So far this add-on has been a disappointment. The add-on refuses to load into Thunderbird or Firefox even though I downloaded the xpi file directly from Firefox's own homepage. Following either Firefox's or AI instructions it is supposed to be installed by either dragging and dropping it into a Firefox window or loaded via their "Install Add-on from file" applet. Both methods produce the same error: "This add-on could not be installed because it has not been verified"-- whatever that means. It is therefore useless. If someone can give me some clarity on this I'd appreciate it.

How do I actually use this add-on? I installed it, signed up for DeepL, generated an API key, and pasted it into the correct settings field. Then, I opened an email in English and clicked the add-on's translate button, but absolutely nothing happens. It doesn't open a new tab, there's no real-time translation, and not even a pop-up window appears. It just seems dead. Does anyone know how to fix this?

API Schlüssel im (vorhandenem) DeepL (Free) Konto erstellen, von dort kopieren und in den Einstellungen des Add-on "QuickTranslate DeepL" einfügen = fertig. Ergebnisse in neuem Tab lesen und gut ist. Kein anderes Add-on mit DeepL im Hintergrund ist zügiger und genauer, als dieses hier! Wünschenswert wäre den Button direkt in das Mail-Menü zu integrieren, anstatt oben rechts. So komfortabel wie in Outlook ist es natürlich nicht, aber es geht auch so ganz prima. Danke dafür!

Nach dem Update auf Version 4.4.3 im Zusammenhang mit Thunderbird 140.7 ist das Plugin eine große Hilfe. Die Übersetzung der Mail läuft über die API von DeepL schnell und unkompliziert, wobei das Ergebnis in einem separatem Tab angezeigt wird. Die Einrichtung der API von DeepL ist etwas kompliziert, dies kann jedoch nicht dem Entwickler angelastet werden.
