Works just as described! For me, Archive settings in Thunderbird needed a change for it to work on Microsoft/Outlook accounts:
Account Settings → Copies & Folders → Message Archives section → tick "Keep message archives in:" and select Other → the Archive folder. Go to "Archive Options" and tick single folder (Outlook default)
