I installed a second copy of Thunderbird (v45.0) after downloading it from: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/

Doing so does NOT remove your current version. By using the older version, I was able to install Quicktext which then works with both versions (I'm also using v52.5).

I tried KD's workaround (posted Dec 12, 2017) but it didn't fix Quicktext. Any other ideas?

Dear All,

Even my Quicktext add-on was not supported by the latest update V52.5. then I tried something and it worked like magic. I downloaded the add-on file and then dragged it to add-ons page of TB manually and Whollla... It worked like charm and it installed my favorite add-on Quciktet in the latest version of TB.

Рзарабы, плиз доработайте под последний Thunderbirdваше расширение - оно лучшее.

Как без рук без него - придется сносить новый тандербёрд и возвращать старый,чтобы ваш аддон работал.

One of my all-time favourite add-ons, the only thing worthwhile in Thunderbird, has now passed on for good.

Was still working with a workaround even at the beginning of 57 beta. Alas that there is no longer any development on this as 59 alpha would have proved stronger than ever, but for this one short-coming: the absence of QuickText and QuickText Pro.

This is a superb bit of kit. great , copy html from page to quicktext have dozens of special templates.

I have have been using this add on for years and it is extremely helpful. Recently had to get a new computer and found out that TB won;t allow this addon anymore.

I wrongly reported that it does not work, but it was my mistake - I was using a patched version from back when we had the same kind of problem once again - in 2015. The new version does work (Thank you a lot :rkent)

Too bad this plugin is not developed any longer. I would be happy to buy the pro version or maybe sponsor the merging of the two. RKent? Anybody?

Das Tool ist genial und ich habe mich grün und blau geärgert, als es nach einem automatischen Update auf Thunderbird 45 nicht mehr funktioniert hat. Dachte auch alle meine Vorlagen wären verschwunden. Jetzt ist alles wieder da! Vielen Dank!

I mistakenly updated to Thunderbird 45 the other day and everything stopped working - Quicktext, Pasthyperlink...

I'm glad to say that simply by reinstalling Thunderbird 43 and disabling automatic updates, everything is now back to normal and working properly. Delighted...

Uninstall Quicktext - unpack the zip file - drag the xpi file into the add-ons tab in thunderbird. Works great for me.
