i dont know why people are complaining about it not working in win7 x64? i have been using it (not the beta's) for months without any problems

Finally the beta 5 of version 2.0 works with Windows 7 x64 and doesn't crash anymore!

Don't trust it with large files!
I'm running XP Pro with 3GB Ram and plenty of HD space and high-speed internet. It should be easy to download a large-ish file like Ubuntu, right? Wrong. Twice this program has froze up while downloading. I have downloaded large files and small files before. So, what's the issue? 40 minutes of downloading a 600 mb file and it was all for nothing. Both times speed went down to zero for no apparent reason (internet was still blazing). I let it sit and tried to pause or resume the downloads, but, those options couldn't be highlighted. It seems that DTa just gave up! Find a more reliable download accelerator than this one. DTa is speedy and useful, but, only when you can get it to work properly. Bottom line: Using this program can lead to a lot of wasted time. If you have too much time on your hands and like the idea of rolling the dice with your downloads, this is the program for you!

Please create a boolean preference named extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0b and set it to false.

Really good add-on. I use this as my download manager & also recommend to others. Who needs other (pirated) download managers when you have a free dta, within Firefox itself.
One suggestion:
Can you add a protocol like
dta:<url>?saveas=<download_path>
e.g.
dta:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com%3Fsomequery%3Dsomequestion?saveas=/path/to/some-location-on-hard-disk/file.zip
It will be easy for other download addons to use your addon as download manager. (e.g. video downloaders)

DownThemAll is wonderful indispensible tool I use all day long in a wide variety of ways. DownThemAll returns essential features the now-lost GetRight once gave to the dial-up era. The surprise today is how these features that have only grown DRAMATICALLY MORE essential and important in today's world of always-on high-speed internet, exactly the opposite of what people (myself included) thought as broadband replaced dial-up. Web servers now cripplingly limit the speed of a single thread; DownThemAll defeats the system by splitting a download up to ten simultaneous sections that it joins when finished. Downloads still die midway and Firefox often fails to notice; we are just as disappointed today when downloads fail to complete as when a broken download meant redialing the phone; DownThemAll satisfies our great desire to resume a disconnected download rather than start again from scratch. The choices of downloads on a page (or group of pages) grow larger daily and DownThemAll gives us the ability to select by RegEx/Grep, file extension by preset category, and more --- and a heavy-duty reliable download manager capable of serious management of massive downloads if necessary. I miss using DownThemAll with the lost Repagination Firefox Extension that knitted webpages split into short pagees (1 of 350, for example) into a single page - DownThemAll then let you pick links from Repagination's huge knitted giant superpage, saving hours of time. I love DownThemAll !!!

Does everyone use this for the same thing that I do? Looks like it has a bunch of features I've never used. I just use these features:-download all images and/or videos that current page links to-bulk file-renaming Anyway, I'm very happy with this extension.

Please add the genuine function of resume downloading. Many users are mislead to believe downthemall has it. However the truth is, if you stop one download and next time you add the same download link and choose the same download target, downthemall does NOT recognize the unfinished part and ask you to overrite the old file or canel the current task. This is absolutely NOT a resumed download thing.

I have been using down them all since many years. It is wonderful download manager in terms of Privacy, useful features, convenient and since version 2 I am using this to download You tube and other flash videos from different websites. Thanks a lot for adding this feature. Now I think I don't need Video download helper. Why keep an extra add on when down them all does all, even detecting videos from different sites. Please make this feature better and support many sites.

I also think a little F2= rename the file would be great. Sometimes you can't pause the download, just cancel it. Otherwise, It like it a lot, fast, very simple and not ugly.
I also use Videodownload helper, it could be nice to have this one send the URL directly to Downthemall instead of always copying the URL of the video and paste it in Downthemall.

I needed to download over 300 pdf files on a website following a search. Found this add-on, installed it, created filter for pdf and hey presto ! Did the job as advertised. Great tool for when this is needed.
