I do not understand some of the negative reviews for DTA, especially the one that said you cannot delete all previous downloads from the list. There are at least two easy ways to do this. One lets you select all and delete selected. The other automatically deletes all downloads when you close the DTA manager. You need to enter options or setup to select the second. The previous reviewer needs to look more carefully.I've been using DTA for years.
As for the "UI' criticisms, asking DTA to follow deeper links to find specific types of files, is not a UI issue. It's a request to add a web crawler to DTA which is significant new and complex functionality. This is not a criticism of the existing product. DTA certainly is a download manager, even if it does not do what one user wishes.
For single (large) downloads like ISOs, I stick with the Firefox downloader. For high volume downloads I always use DTA. I collect lots of graphics files from public galleries. With DTA I've downloaded 8,000 plus files in a single shot, hands off. This is with the One-click button and "all tabs." I use a graphics search engine to search for the kinds of files I want, and open each result in a new tab; I don't even look at the webpages. I've had hundreds of tabs open at once. Once all pages are open I use One-click. Having DTA continuously download files, as fast as the origin sites allow, while I start reviewing the pictures in a local graphics manager is great. It's hard to imagine having to do this manually again. Looking at dozens to hundreds of web pages and clicking hundreds to thousands of thumbnails is very tedious. DTA handles bad links and other problems automatically. The default number of downloads is four files at a time. You can set this to 1 or as high as 10 (I think). The automatic adding of sequence numbers to duplicate file names is great (depending on your duplicate name choices).
For my purposes at least, DTA is invaluable.

The functionality of the tool is good. But to call the download manager a *manager* is defininetly wrong. You cannot edit your URLs, if you want to download pics which are on a deeper level. dTa cannot follow links. Good, that this program exists. But you cannot call it a tool. The possibilities to edit something are ridiculous. The FAQ on the products website is as well a collection of very few questions which nobody has really asked. Sorry. The idea is great. But ...

Esta nueva version no permite descargar imagenes incrustadas. Ante una galeria de fotos que estan incrustadas en una pagina, el complemento solo se limita a hacer dos cosas: o bien descarga las miniaturas, o bien descarga unos archivos de enlace de firefox.
Una porquería. Impresentable. Este complemento es una total decepción.

great addon, thanks for creating it. I have experienced unstable downloads sometimes too but have found it was because of the site i am downloading from that was unstable, not DTA.
For a short time it was downloading HTM files for me too but soon found i needed to click the "Embedded" tab instead of the "Links" tab with "disable other filters" selected. When i began learning to use this addon correctly it works perfectly. Many sites out there never upgrade their servers, imgsrc is a perfect example of this. DTA can't be faster than the site you are downloading from, so it's not the addon's fault. Thanks for creating this, 5 stars

I was very happy, and ready to try this when I first looked at it. I even got some random file just to test it out. It was nice, friendly user interface, very much like an external down-loader I used to use. The problem was, it couldn't keep a stable download rate. It was always moving in big jumps of 15-30 kb/s. Also It never reached my maximum download rate which is 350 kb/s which the down-loader for Mozilla always reaches. The 32 MB file I downloaded took 10-14 minutes (the unstable download speed kept changing up the time) The download rate also never got over +100 on a good jump up before going back down. 2 stars, loved the interface, but it seemed to not do what it was meant to do. Download my stuff. (PS I had it on unlimited, that is default anyways) To bad I will still use it, and the -400% download rate. Like I said, amazing interface, love the way it works. If you experienced the dulled down download rate, feel free to give me an email on how to fix it... zyther.xy@gmail.com.

The folks who praise this have me mystified. It has about 2/3 of the functionality it should have. For instance, I cannot find a way to delete previous downloads, so every time I download a new set of files, I have to first Select All then click Uncheck Selected. Then I have to search through the ever-growing list of already-downloaded files in order to find the not-yet-downloaded ones, select them and click Check Selected. Then I can finally download them. Another example, when downloading a complete album of MP3s, the files are downloaded without the album info. As a result, I have to download the albums one at a time. Also, instead of using the Description for the file name, which it displays, it uses the actual filename, which has _ in place of every blank in the description. So after downloading the files, I have to edit out the darn _s.

Excellent addon although a problem with multi-segment. Download traffic continues when file is complete
There is also a spelling error in the speed limit balloon popup. It says 'The list is dynamicly updated'. It should be spelt 'dynamically'

This is Excellent Add on. It can download faster than Firefox download . And it can download them all in that page like pictures , you no need to download one by one just right click and Download Them All

This is absolutely what I need and works perfectly. I tried many external apps. But this is best. It's an advantage being an add-on, so no worry about username/passwords and all cookie stuff. I highly recommend.

This is useful for those sites that will only allow you to download one thing at a time. You can line them up, rather than just wasting time waiting for each one to complete. I did have issues about it switching downloads automatically, though. Sometimes it'd switch on it's own, other times I had to manually start it. Kinda weird, but not a huge deal. I haven't had the need to actually download everything on a page yet, but it's nice to have that option available if the situation arises.

Had to figure out exactly how to use the Add Download dialog, but DTA is great. Now, I can quickly add multiple files to download later

It'd be nice if it worked properly.
I'm trying to download a 4 GB file from filestube.com and using a free account you can only download 550 MB at a time every 2 hrs. When I started the download for the 2nd 550 MB DownThemAll either starts a 2nd download of it (from scratch) or (this only happened once) it tells me that the file already exists and I can only:
1) Overwrite
2) Skip/Cancel
3) Rename
There's no resume!!
However, I did just figure this out and was able to get it to resume. I copied the link for the 2nd 550 MB and right clicked the 1st 550 MB I downloaded and selected Manage Mirrors and added the link I copied earlier as a 2nd mirror. I the right-clicked the 1st 550 MB and selected resume and it continued where I last left off.
If I'm downloading the exact same file in the same location it should always give me the option of RESUME along with Rename, Cancel/Skip, Overwrite...for some reason it doesn't do that. For this I only give it 3/5 stars.

Very Nice! I was using flashgot with firefox and a variety of different download managers and was not happy with any of them. For some reason I had never tried this, until now. Now it's all I need, it does it all. Flashgot and all the download managers are now gone , replaced with one simple add-on, DTA. One of the very best ever!
