It's really a good addon. I used Gmail Notifier in FF3 and moved to Gmail Manager after upgrade. This addon is even better than Gmail Notifier.
Only one thing seems to be missing:
When the icon is in the "nav-bar" just right of the forward/back arrows it uses the same style like in e.g. menu-bar (icon is on the left, text is on the right). It would be better if it uses the same style as is default for the specific toolbar (left/right for menu-bar, top/bottom for nav-bar, etc...). It will take less space on the toolbar, as the nav-bar is already sized to contain icons top and text bottom.

A Clear lack of a brain, the previous poster has not idea about how to work Firefox. The notification can be 'moved' to be in the lower bar of Firefox by a simple click and drag. Not really a smart guy as most of Firefox is customizable and can be reworked to fit ones needs so things aren't taking too much place on the screen.

A Clear waste of time, the author has not idea about what is convenient. The notification is 'supposed' to be in the lower bar of Firefox. Not really smart has most of Firefox do not display this bar has this is taking too much place on the screen.

Does not memorize passwords in FF 4.0.1 when FF is restarted. Not good.

I'm pleased with this add-on except a few things, I find it annoying that the unread counter doesn't reset when clicked on(opens Gmail). You have to wait the interval you set until Gmail Manager checks the email again (assuming you've read your emails by then). Also the toolbar icon is flat, sticking out among other buttons. It looks ugly.

When I installed FF4, the gmail manager icon was gone - but so was Readability and others.
I found I needed to turn on 'add-on bar'. Right click on the top bar, and select 'add-on bar' - for me, it was last in the list.
Love this add-on. I wouldn't want to be with out it.

I do not see the tab which displays the addon? Anyone has been able to get around that bug?
@flameware are you saying you were able to see the addon after disabling it? I dont get what you were saying.

When I checked my gmail today google gave me a warning that my acount was accessed from two other countries. My only other addons are Multirow bookmarks tool bar, HTTPS everywhere and No Script. Could someone remotely access my gmail emails using Gmail Manager? I couldnt find any security reviews regarding this addon!

best gmail checker for firefox, throw some icons to choose and option to hide unread counter if there is no new mail(why we need 0 there ?:D) and its perfect !

Sorry to say, it does not work.
I've two gmail-accounts and GM only logs in for one, if at all, and shows two icons for that one account.
On top of that, the app-tabs in FF4 disappear.

Love this add-on and have been using it for years now.
Lately I seem to have a problem when opening my accounts, that they don't load at the first try, I have to wait until the option to reload the page appears...
I searched for solutions and I found that if I opened the account with https://mail.google.com/mail/#inbox instead of https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1# (which is the link the addon uses) it doesn't do that.
Any clue why it does that or how to fix it?

Toolbar Disappearing Bug:
When using Firefox 4 and the Gmail Manager any custom toolbars created are hidden and not accessible after restart of firefox.
Disabling the addon fixes this problem
Any idea when this is going to be fixed?

Thnx for this add-on, it's really nice. Just replaced gmail button from Google toolbar with Gmail manager and it makes me a little bit happier. I've got only one suggestion: would you be so kind to add an option for hiding messages count from statusbar if there are no new new messages in the box (this zero looks really useless in the statusbar)? Thnx again for your work and good luck.

How does one change the checking interval? A few times today (since installing) I've noticed that there's email in my box though it hasn't notified and there's been times when I've cleared the box and it still shows unread.
EDIT: I found this in the account setup, some how missed it. Add on has been working beautifully.

I adopted this as my favorite add-on for gmail even if I had many troubles many times. It has unique futures as manage multiple accounts gmail standard and apps, as having a label in status bar for each account and very good and simple way to manage options.As 2011 has began everything has gone wrong and now I'm so disappointed. I stopped using this add-on because of too many problems, too many broken hopes.I will get back trying this in the future but not yet.
