Those who rate this down claiming it does what NoScript already does, aren't getting the point. Javascript is very useful and well-used on many sites. NoScript breaks many of them, and it is often difficult to whitelist appropriately.
With YesScript, you don't have to. You ONLY block the sites that are mis-using javascript, and leave all the others alone. That is MUCH better.

Also, Noscript, despite its name, blocks all executable content; script, flash, you name it.

Okay, but i feel no need to use this add-on with Firefox. Noscript has all the features of this, including a blacklist and whitelist for sites. The only difference is Noscript has "Realtime Protection", which can block all sites and allow them temporarily. You can also disable this feature. I don't get it. Israel Valedhel is right, Noscript does do the job better, and is safer.

This is perfect and does what it says, it's a pity idiots like Azrael_Valedhel or startail go on with their rubbish. This addon does that it is supposed to! Don't like it? Well shut up with your girly whining and get another addon! All the rest of them block everything, which as the author says is totally NOT necessary in general.

I find javascript whitelisting annoying in everyday use - a javascript blacklist on the other hand, is really useful.
This plugin makes blacklisting really easy, through an intuitive icon in the statusbar.

Really missing feature in firefox. I think it would be really good to able to block all by default, and then allow by basis.
+ Does what it sais
+ Per domain basis
- Can't do block by default
A nice feature would also be integration into "Page Info - Security" section where you set everything else for the site you're visiting.
Also could need a "This site wants to run a JavaScript. Deny or Grant" as with Cookies.

Nice work, but is there a way to get the 'not blacklist' icon in a toolbar?

Not for me, NoScript is the way I want it to be, and if anybody says clicking twice to whitelist a page is "much more difficult to use"... Wha...?
Besides, NoScript can be set to do what YesScript does - with two clicks. You just click "Allow scripts globally" and then block js with two clicks on whatever site you want. I will repeat myself - it's like running possibly infected file and THEN using antivirus software. It works, but I see no point in using this, sorry. NoScript is something more than just JS disable/enable shortcut.

It's a must have add-on.
For cookies a whitlist is the way to go, but with Web2/Ajax more and more sites rely on JavaScript to work at all, so a whitelist will basically render the WWW hard to use. This is what NoScript would do. Aside that, NoScript is not lighter at alle (look at the size!) and much more difficult to use.
So, because of Web2/Ajax, a blacklist is the way to go for JavaScript. This is what YesScript does and it does it very well. Thanks a lot for it and please keep up the good work!

Does what it says but NoScript is better because it's lighter, easier to use and has BOTH whitelist and blacklist mechanics.

There are few extensions that make it into my "Must Have" category but this is one of them. I can't live without it! Very simple to use and without needless bells or whistles.
Now if there were just one more extension to toggle disk cache I'd be all set.

Nice if it would make it possible to set the action to no before visiting a site, rather than only after. Then you could "yes" only when you want the scripting, without (like Noscript) having to figure out exactly what and who you have to "yes" on each broken page.

This is one of THE best add ons. Java script has been a pain to filter out since most other programs take care of the traditional methods of pop ups, sites use java to circumvent pop stoppers. When you are trying to load a page that takes forever because the java add fails [ which results in no page at all ]; this little number allows the page to load like grease lightening and no adds at all. Thanks a heap, this now closes the door on these insidious adds

This is a great extension and is free which makes it all but required for Firefox. So many websites lately are abusing Javascript to sneak in annoying ads among other things and this handy tool is so user friendly that it's super easy to turn off javascript for those offending websites. One click is all it takes and its clear which web sites you are blocking by the icon on the bar. Thank you for this great extension!

Although this is good, and I have no criticism of the addon whatsoever - people are misconstruing the need for the noscript approach as overkill.
Yesscript will not help if javascript has already run and such rubbish as the zango infected sites have already corrupted your browser. by the time you ban the site it will be too late.
Yes script is good for installing on the machines of those who arent tech savvy enough to make a judgement call on whether to ALLOW a script. A decent list of sites to block will allow those users to roam unencumbered by noscripts nagging and keep them safe.
I believe there is no fight between yes and no script - its horses for courses - you dont run a sprinter on a hurdles course and vice versa -
Great script blocker thank you !
