Excellent little add-on. Makes FireFox that much more useful :-).

In particular, I like the fact that it adds a more accessible button to saved passwords button to the menus.

Only suggestion would be to change the default behaviour to force password saving on all pages that request the browser to not save credentials instead of having to manually override.

Running firefox v24. This software won't finish installing and now can't uninstall. Stuck. Useless.

Works fine for me. Maybe there's something wrong with your profile. Add-ons don't manage their own installation; Firefox itself does, so try asking on Mozilla Support.

Very handy addon. Thank you for creating it! :)

However it seems to me that it has a small bug. If certain page (e.g. for reminding password) has 2 fields other than password (username and email) and if email has been previously saved as login data, then username field will be filled with saved user's email instead of email field. That's pretty annoying.

Please read the FAQ on the support site. Thank you.

It seems as if every website wants you to register and then sign in w/ a password, even when they don't sell anything and nobody knows, or will ever care, whether you visited that site or not. And site "Ab" requires you to include a capital letter, site "1b?" requires a number or a punctuation mark, then site "4bR&" insists you have all three, and you must also have at least 6, or maybe 7, unless it's 8 characters, at minimum. Some sites require that you use your email address to log in, some sites suggest it, and some absolutely FORBID you to use your email address for ID! What do you do if your 2 page list of log-in IDs and passwords gets left at home while you're on vacation, or worse yet, what if you brought the list with you and it was stolen along w/ your purse? Thank you for creating "Saved Password Editor"! It works exactly as you describe. I even used it to sign in here, so I could post this review . . .

Well, I'm glad you found this useful. But, you know, SPE doesn't really solve the above problem for the most part. Firefox already solves it (again, for the most part). You don't *need* SPE to *store* most of your passwords, nor to fill them in for you (both of which Firefox does on its own), only to change them. Firefox even allows you to access the list, just not as conveniently. There are, however, those sites that don't want you to store your passwords; SPE can help there, by allowing you to store them anyway.

Makes changing passwords and related Web sites possible. Works well inside FF option menu and is intuitive. What more could one ask?

Great! Works as described, and works perfectly. Solved an ongoing username/password annoyance I've had for a long time with several sites.

I appreciate both the new "saved passwords" shortcut in the Tools menu, and the right-click context menu popup. Between these two, there's no reason you can't store the username and pwd for ANY site. And the editing feature makes changing passwords a cinch.

THANKS!

it is really excellent addon, for some of the websites i couldn't able to save username and password, for those websites i used this " saved password editor" to manually enter the username and password. It worked fine.
Thanks for this addon

One some pages, the stored login is not shown, after the page has been loaded. Only by choosing the context menu "Anmeldedaten ändern/change login data(?)" the login name shows up.

Also it would be nice if only the login name could be stored (without a password). An obvious work around is to store a wrong/short password.

1. This is covered both in the video linked from the description and in the FAQ (see support site).

2. Sorry, no can do. The password manager simply refuses to accept a login with a "null or empty" password. I can't change that. I guess the Mozilla developers figure there's no point in using a password manager and not putting passwords in it.

I tried a few other extensions before this one, due in my eyes to the name. "Saved Password Editor" implies that its only able to edit existing data. When In fact this extension is SO much more. I'd call this extension something like, "Password Editor, Creator, and Cloner". Thanks for the fantastic tool.

This is no doubt a very useful facility extended to all. But, as for I am concerned, I am a retired old man without any source of income. Yet, when I get a good amount of my pocket money from my son and/or daughter, I will definitely contribute to the developer of this valuable service. thanks.....muthuaiyer

I can't stand password, the most annoying thing ever invented. This addon is one of the best out there for me: it works around the stupid constraints that some web developers add to their sites so all passwords can be saved.

everything is working except in the web page when i right click & edit login info near userid password text box & after putting new password. ok button is not working . i.e. when i press ok. doesnot happened anything. for editing password i have to right click & remove existing id & again create new entry. let me know if there is any solution or configuration change.

There is a bug in Mozilla's toolkit code that I believe is causing this. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=856858

You must be using a non-release version (Beta, Aurora, etc.), as the bug affects Firefox 22 and 23. I'm not sure whether it's been fixed in those versions. If not, I'm going to be upset.

EDIT: The fix for that bug has been deployed in Fx 22 and 23, so things should be back to normal soon.

This is NOT the place to get support. I can't talk to you properly this way.

Eins sehr gutes Addon!

Great Add On.. was really waiting for this.. But one silly question (dont know if its asked before): What do we do if right click is disabled?

Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (2.7.1-signed) del componente aggiuntivo.

That's... a pretty good question, actually. And no one has asked me it before. The easy answer is that you can still fall back on going to the Saved Passwords window (shortcut: Tools > Saved Passwords, or you can use the toolbar button if you add it), clicking "New", and using the "Guess from current page" button in the editor.

If you really want to be able to use the context menu, there are supposed to be solutions for that. There's an add-on called RightToClick, and others might exist; give them a try.

Can you add an importing (and maybe an exporting) passwords from a file, please? This necessary to import files from other profiles or old FF backups.

Use Password Exporter for that: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/password-exporter/
