I've been using this add-on for a while and it's one of my favourite add-ons. It has always been great, until it stopped working a few days ago. But thanks to Divrsit's fix, it works again!

For those leery of a download, and you experienced problems after following Divsirt's solution, I second Xander's addition which finally fixed it for me!!!!
Follow Divsirt's solution and also follow Xander's additional step:
5. Open the file install.rdf with a text editor and change the line:
<em:maxVersion>4.0.*</em:maxVersion>
to
<em:maxVersion>6.0.*</em:maxVersion>

Just download it and choose to open it with firefox, install, and done. up and working better then before.

The fix Divrsit posted earlier was not enough to get it to work again for me. I had to make 1 more adjustment. Thanks for Divrsit for posting the solution.
This works for Windows 7. If you use a different version of Windows, the files mentioned below are most likely on different locations.
1. Browse to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\A RANDOM CODE IS HERE.default\extensions\
2. Locate the file {582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.xpi, rename it to {582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.zip and extract the files to a temporary location.
3. Open the components folder, look for the file gmServiceGmail.js and use a text editor to modify these 2 lines:
this._loginURL = "https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLoginAuth";
should be changed to this
this._loginURL = "https://accounts.google.com/accounts/ServiceLoginAuth?service=mail";
this._loginURL = "https://www.google.com/a/" + this.domain + "/LoginAction2";
should be changed to this
this._loginURL = "https://accounts.google.com/a/"+ar[1]+"/LoginAction2?service=mail";
4. Save the file, overwrite the existing gmServiceGmail.js
5. Open the file install.rdf with a text editor and change the line:
<em:maxVersion>4.0.*</em:maxVersion>
to
<em:maxVersion>6.0.*</em:maxVersion>
6. Save the file, overwrite the existing install.rdf.
7. Rezip all files you extracted in step 2 and name it {582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.xpi
8. Replace the old {582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.xpi for the 1 you just adjusted and restart FireFox

This extra is working for me for years now.
It simply IS the best manager for anyone who has multiple gmail accounts like me.
Like someone said, it simply stop working google decides to modify their code. But the developers always manage to fix things ASAP and I'm happy loggin in manualy for a few days until the issue is resolved.

Diversit's fix works just fine. Mac user type in the adress bar about:support, click the button show in finder. the rest is similar to Windows users.

...is a really good rule. Those below who couldn't be bothered have unfortunately posted idiotic comments. Any negative comments are just the result of ignorance.
It works, plain and simple. It's a great tool. I have 14 accounts I'm monitoring right now, and other than brief interruptions when Google change something (that's outside the developers control) it's worked for many years.
If I was the original developer, I'd be pissed and using some ripe words by now....

I can log in manually to gmail and it works perfectly. I try to log in via this and it says there is an error even though it is exactly the same username and password being entered. Do not bother with this, it doesn't even deserve one star.

I have absolutely NO IDEA why I was having such a problem doing this, since I've modded other versions of the add-on. But thanks again to all who attempted to assist this simpleton.

I googled this problem, and found a solution in the Mozillazine forums, posted today:

Down near the bottom of the page look at the post by "iHastr". It gives a link to a modded version of the extension.
I can confirm that it works in FF 6xxx in Ubuntu, and in FF 3xxx in Windows XP.

Followed the instructions, worked like a charm. (Diversit, you rock!) Frankly, this extension is indispensable, which is why it's so painful when it goes down. Still, I'd much rather deal with its occasional fails than to have it yanked from the FF extensions library.
Twolane: Open the folder path specified by Diversit. If you have to extract the file (i.e., if it's an .xpi file), extract everything to the "...\extensions\" folder where the .xpi file lives. Open "gmServiceGmail.js" in notepad. Change/replace the script lines, as explained by Diversit. Save the file. It should automatically save with the same name to the same place that you opened it from. I don't believe you have to compress everything again, but quit and restart FF to make sure. If for some reason the fix doesn't work, then 1) double check that you didn't introduce a typo when copying/pasting Diversit's code into gmServiceGmail.js, and 2) try compressing everything back into an .xpi file. Then test again. (Hope this helps.)

Thanks Diversit! Simple fix. (On XP there are some minor changes to accessing the file, but nothing XP users can't figure out - the path and the fact that the file is not compressed in an xpi archive). I made the fixes - remembrer to change the www to accounts too (I missed that at first), and everything's working great now. Thank you very much for posting the fix!

Diversit, this may work for the local install of Firefox, but I use the Portable version from PortableApps. The roaming profile appears to be handled differently. Thanks for the help, but I need to find the equivalent file in the portable version.

EDIT: With regards to the Portable Apps version, if you access the troubleshooting page in FF via Help > Troubleshooting Information or by typing in about:support in the address bar it will allow you to see the location of your profile directory and also the name/location of the Gmail Manager extension. (This works for any version of FF, portable or not). I'm running the latest version of FF via the Portable Apps site and can verify this fix works.
First of all, this is a truly great app! I know it's frustrating when it suddenly stops working (with no dev support), but thanks to the scripting gods I was able to find a fix over at the Webmail Notifier add-on review page. Credit for the new url's goes to Sirhc; I just made the modifications to meet Gmail Manager script.
1. Browse yourself to C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\A RANDOM CODE IS HERE.default\extensions\
2. Locate the file {582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.xpi and use WinRaR/WinZip ect. to extract the files
3. Open the components folder, look for the file gmServiceGmail.js and use a text editor to modify the file
4. Look for these 2 lines:
this._loginURL = "https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLoginAuth";
should be changed to this
this._loginURL = "https://accounts.google.com/accounts/ServiceLoginAuth?service=mail";
this._loginURL = "https://www.google.com/a/" + this.domain + "/LoginAction2";
should be changed to this
this._loginURL = "https://accounts.google.com/a/"+ar[1]+"/LoginAction2?service=mail";
5. Save the file, overwrite the existing gmServiceGmail.js with this one and VIOLA! After restarting Firefox you should be all set.
