Hi, I really like this extension! It was so simple to work with, with literally 1 click of a button! But the only thing... I hat this new layout. You have to click 1 button, which opens a new window. Then, when you click on what format you want it downloaded as, it minimizes the window and opens the naming thing. My issue with this is 1. It's slower and 2. If you are downloading multiple things in a row, these windows stack up and it's annoying. Could you please return to the old format? I'm sure many other people feel this way!

don't get me wrong, this is a great add-on and everything, and works as advertised, but it seems a little too good to be true... how does it actually work? it is the only add-on I have managed to find that successfully downloads youtube videos as mp3s without using a converter website. is this legal? safe?

Links to the video are on the youtube page. Youtube MP3 Podcaster downloads them using the link and then uses 3 programs to make the MP3: ffmpeg.exe makes the MP3, MP3gain.exe fixes the volume and finally encTagger.exe adds the tags. Of the 3 only encTagger.exe is written by me. It's actually a really, really simple program. It uses two programming libraries (taglib and poco) to do that tagging. taglib does the actual tagging, poco is there to work around the Windows command line not having unicode support (I pass the tags through on command line). Think accented characters and Asian languages. This makes it 'self contained' in the sense that all the work done to download/make the MP3 is done on your computer. I use the plugin to download freely available podcasts and other creative commons licensed works.

After going through several converter add-ons, this one worked quickly, easily on the first time with no additional setup required.
It's a great add-on and I recommend it to everyone!

PLEASE add option to remove some or all of the OVERSIZED icons...and the goofy red thing! It takes of too much space on videos with long titles and messes things up...wow...or at least have a size option...they are too large!

Honestly, it's not worth as an add-on now. It hasn't been working for a week. After re-installing and re-updating, it still doesn't work.

This fixes the problems with Firefox 18. 2.7.7 will be the next release on Firefox as this will include the FF 18 fixes plus some other odds/ends. Thanks!

I downloaded like 3 songs and then I was looking at my folder on my hard drive and literally watched as my files were getting deleted -- now only downloads 0mbs

I loved this thing but now it only downloads 0mbs and it just auto completes without downloading... i really love to download music and vids from the internet but it wont work anymore :C

I tried downloading several tracks from youtube, and watched disappointed as the plugin spit out several different file sizes- first 8mb, then 21mb, then 47mb (repeat attempts) for a 103mb file.
No good!
Hi, There's a known issue where closing the tab while downloading stops the MP3 from being created. In 2.7.1 don't close the tab. You can get 2.7.2 on www.glimmersoft.com. It should be up on mozilla.org soon too. Thanks!

works, but you have to keep the youtube tab open of the song you're trying to download for the entire duration of the download.... so it works, but it's a little fussy. i see from the webpage that you're working on fixing that, though.

P.S. Options for this add-on can only be found in old menu. Some users probably don't know how to access old menu, so you should place it into new menu button also.

I love the how easy it is to download videos with this extension but I am having issues adding them to Itunes. I have tried making a file for the artist and adding these to my automatically add to Itunes folder as mp3s. I can add them as Mp4s, but I would prefer them as mp3s. If anyone has some advice (I could be doing something wrong) I'd be happy to bump this to a 5 star review!
