If the addon saves a page based on "browser state", why does it add back parts removed by Adblock element hider?

(The support page is down so I'm reporting here).

This addon is one of the reasons I still use FF/Palemoon.
Issues mentioned in previous review mostly persist though.
Adding back removed elements wasn't reported before, I think.

For some reason, in FF v26 and XP SP3, the very handy taskbar-located MAF download progress bar has disappeared. I don't know if this fault is related to FF, my system or whatever. Grateful for any tips! Thanks.

There are still issues with missing items and/or extra scroll up/down arrows when they are not needed.

And in the options sections some text is missing.

I'm sure I'll give the add-on a 5-star rating once these are fixed.

Great! two years ago i suggested this feature to mozilla. they said there is a extension for this feature. and... (i can't remember!) . but now i saw this extension. wow!!! is great. Firefox should merge this extension to default Firefox program.

This is nice bit of feature to have, especially it lets users open MHT files in their Firefox instances and benefit from the added security that Firefox add-ons provide.

However, it is not compatible with Outlook 2013. The MHT file that Outlook generates with its "View in Browser" command does not render well in Firefox with this add-on.

Amazing! best way to store your web pages. Thanks alot :)

pros:
easy to use and configure.
context menu.
smaller output size compared to other formats (with full resolution).
quick to save and view.
multiple tabs in a single step.
stores some video and audio files.
web page formatting is stored better than html, mhtml and pdf printers.
converts maff to/from other web page formats.

cons:
some missing pictures formatting on a few websites such as instructables.com
not found on android's firefox addons.

suggestions:
download file links on page with file extension filter (pdf,doc,...etc).
comments on saved page with show/hide button

Very handy way to save pages, i never used the webpage complete option to save pages and this alot easier than website clone software ive tried. But has a minor flaw imo: when you click "Save Tabs In Archive As" to show the open tabs, if you look closely (and after the fact will realize) the tabs arent automatically ordered the same as theyre opened onscreen, so wont be saved in the same order.

Took a few days to realize you can click on the "Location" header to change the save order BUT youve calibrated it to toggle like 4 or 5 different orders, and is tricky telling them apart. So suggest instead of toggling the Location bar randomly finding the save order you want, to add something like labeled check boxes instead. Still a great addon tho. Thanks

@jadd above, HTTrack is what ive got, its very complicated to use and the default settings dont allow you to capture much of a website or guess what parts itll try to clone. There are so many rules to use it properly think you need to be expert to gaurantee itll do what you ask it, even on simple sites that are self contained. Ill keep trying with it in future, but dont consider it an easy option like MAF

После установки перестает показываться окно сохранения вебстраницы: как по Ctrl+S, так и при выборе соответствующего пункта меню Файл.

This add-on allows me to store my HUGE collection of saved webpages more efficiently and more organized.A folder with 50 saved HTML pages would had 50 pages and 50 folders, Now not only do I get more faithful snapshot of the page being saved, but also I get less clutter (50 files), and better use of my valuable disk space, thanks to the compressed pages.

Very useful when having to save a complete web site into one file. Takes clone snapshot. I love using it for my homework.

The day I'll be able to "faithfully" save what's in pages like this:
http://www.gazzettino.it/foto/venezia_ponte_di_rialto_danneggiato/0-52670-319541.shtml

or this:

http://wowslider.com/css-slideshow-studio-fade.html

without loosing a single (CSS) background images and (javascript) functionality in the offline saved version/archive I'll be happy and satisfied...
Until then I can't rate this more than 3 stars as, anyway, this is a nice addons for opening mht file and save ALMOST complete web pages. If the saved archives had maintained all css-background images and functionality I would have rate it 5 stars.

I just have some questions - what's the difference between 'Preserve scripts and source using "Save Complete"' and 'Take a faithful snapshot of the page'? Why is the MHTML checkbox available for both options, and what does it do exactly? As far as I can tell, both .maff and .mht are available after a Ctrl+S regardless, and the options (EDIT: by options I mean combinations of complete/snapshot and MHTML checked or not checked, not selecting a file extension) don't even seem to affect which extension is selected by default; it's always the last one used. Unrelated, but I like that you're getting rid of the "Add-on bar" and "Address bar" options under Interface, I don't see myself ever using them. "Address bar, for archived pages only" and "None" are the only two real options.

Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (2.0.9.1-signed) del componente aggiuntivo.

The options you mentioned determine whether active content on the page is saved or not. Active content doesn't usually work correctly offline, thus the most useful option is the "snapshot", and it is the only save method available in the user interface of version 3.0.

Disabling the MHTML checkbox causes the add-on to create a legacy file format that is not supported by other browsers, and the option has also been removed starting from version 3.0.

Most of the problems are from using ADBLOCK with the "Not Saving Popups" (which tell me little and require me to click for almost no reason -- Here is a hint FIREFOX makers, ONE POPUP + scroll list of errors, not 20 or 30 popups one after another -- make it a LIST with a single close button).

If the only option is to repeatedly click "CLOSE" then there is no option, only lousy programming resulting in a bad interface.

FIREFOX & MHT don't respect ADBLOCK when saving a webpage. They try to save the complete webpage (which is often filled with unwanted ads or other time-wasting junk) and not the ADBLOCK-FILTERED webpage. When I save a webpage I *WANT* the ADBLOCK-FILTERED webpage saved. Simple as that.

Mozilla Archive Format would catch on faster if FIREFOX stopped the tard-popup error gang-bang and presented only one popup with a scroll list and if Mozilla Archive Format saved the ADBLOCK-FILTERED webpage we wouldn't have any "MISSING ITEM" errors while saving a webpage *AT ALL*.

The fact that some content appears in saved pages, despite having been blocked by Adblock Plus, is a known issue. It does not always happen, but we are looking into possible ways to resolve it.

If you would like to provide more information on this or other problems you experienced, you can find the official feedback page at http://maf.mozdev.org/feedback.html.

Hello, after seeing that one of the admins responded to the posts here (as far as 2 pages back), I realized that writing a review is a good way to address this issue of mine + at the same time praise all the good things.

This addon is great - I converted to FF from Opera, so I was used to use .mht file format, but FF didn't provide it naturally, which is a shame, but that's how it was. For archiving purposes, having one file (.mht) is better than having two items (html + folder, which has many other items).

It's like videogames, which has one big .dat file, or few big .dat files, or those with thousands of files. It's not practical and it's not convinient.

This being said, I have problem with this:

"The download cannot be saved, because an unknown error has occured

Please try again"

The general way I am moving in my browser using is to do things faster. Mouse gestures, different helpful addons which improves your speed while browsing. I even saw addon which allowed you to save images to predefined folder just by double clicking on them - speed is good, right ?
Yet, this addon works unintuittively against that when it comes to saving any page. I CTRL+S, select a name (or leave the one that is there) and then I have to wait. I am not sure how long, it varies. For example for
website of Guardian, it's 5 seconds on my 4mbit connection. And it's just 1,5MB file, what about webpages that has 10-15MB (for example forum threads with lots of images) combined with something I am already downloading, so I would have to wait a minute or two ?

This is bad. The bad thing is also that you don't know how long you have to wait - there is sometimes popup window in the lower right corner of my browser, saying "all downloads finished". But sometimes it doesn't appear. And when I want to download a page and I am already downloading a file, it won't appear.

I like how Firefox naturally handles image saving - it also takes time, but you can click "save as", select filename and immideately close the page. No error prompts, it will silently download in background.

Besides, the page is already downloaded in memory, right ? When I am on a page and it's 100% loaded, I can see the page, text and images there, why not download directly from the memory ? The way it is now suggests that the entire page is being downloaded again, which seems to me unnecessary - you basically download every page you want to save 2 times.

Still, 4 stars, as this addon shows promising future and has a care of developers.

This is one of my favorite add-ons, but does it send my pages to your server? Or is it all done locally on my machine?

If it's all local, why does it take so long? It usually says it's going to take a few minutes, and usually takes a couple of minutes, but why?! The pages are already loaded, why doesn't it take 2 seconds instead of 2 minutes?

Is it sending my pages to your server?

This add-on works locally, however versions below 3.0 might still download additional content referenced by the web page, even if it is not currently shown. The latest version 3.0b1 should work better for your use case.
