In the latest version this extension is multilangual. Can you put an option in it, to choose english again? Many program (Lightroom) showing exif info in english. I just need a couple of seconds to realize "Középre súlyozott" metering means "Center-weighted". Also Exiftool and Jeffrey's Exif Viewer showing the entries in english! Don't get me wrong, I love my crazy Hungarian native language, but I know what exif entry means what better in english. :)
Not a big deal to change:
locale fxif hu locale/hu/
to:
locale fxif hu locale/en-US/
in chrome.manifest, but a back-end option would be nice.
Just like "Wolverine", I also want an option to remove FxIF from the right-click Page Info tab (where you can see elements of a webpage). On a standard 1366x768 laptop screen it just going down from the screen. I unable to make it less big vertically, because the top and the bottom of the window is out of my screen! I can close the Page Info window only with ESC!
Not every user want to see this all-time exif info under the Page Info. Me either. Most of us use the Page Info for coder purposes (easily mass download images), not to view pictures. Many of us wants to find out exif info on the fly, on the webpage, not in the Page Info dialog box. Please make this option optional!!! I understand your vision: the not so advanced users don't know how to hide the 1x1px transparent gif from above the pictures with Adblock. For them, good option to show exif in Page Tab dialog. But for many coders and advanced users (with little laptop screen) it's just annoying. It makes unusable the Page Info tab. We need to turn off FxIF to find something and later turn on again.
This is the best EXIF viewer extension in any platform. Simple and fast. Please don't f*ck up with these little annoying things! :)
Also an option would be highly welcome to choose what entries I want to see in the FxIF pop-up vindow. Maybe put them in order and put white-space between groups vertically.
This extension, with the same pop-up vindow simplicity, would be highly welcome on Chrome platform also! FxIF one of the few extensions that still keep me to use Firefox!
EDIT:
I see you removed from Page Info in v0.4.7.1. I made my language hack and it's perfect again.
FxIF is mutlilingual from the beginning on. But the Hungarian translation was just added in 0.4.7.
I can't say if it's possible to switch languages programmatically. Normally the application (e.g. Firefox) automatically choses the right localization from your browser language. I'll look into this for the next version.
Including that oversized list in page info wasn't done on purpose and already fixed, but that you've already found out. But nevertheless sorry for that.

This is really a must have app for every photographer browsing the web with firefox.
As I am using Thunderbird as a RSS reader for many photoblogs, I think this extension could be also very useful for the Mozilla messaging application.
Any plan for that ? Is this difficult to port FxIF to TbIF ?

FxIF is one of the best EXIF displaying add-ons that there is. I have come to rely on this addon due to the simple fact of me being a photo nerd. I love delving deep into the EXIF data of photos just to see what settings and equipment people are using for their photographs.
The convenience of FxIF is exceptional. I don't have to download any images to get the info. Just right click on an image and "view FxiF" and the dialog will pop up with all of the attached EXIF data.
If you're looking to view EXIF data around the web, this is definitely the add-on to go for. It's much more aesthetically pleasing than some of the other options out there. Give it a try!

Very helpful tool! I use it since Fx 2.0, and it's still the most reliable plugin for Exif among AMO =)

Useful and indispensable. Better than the Chrome EXIF viewers.

Great add-on that shows up in the 'Properties' dialog. Simple, straightforward and seems to work very well...for images that include EXIF data...and way too many of them don't. But that doesn't detract from a really good utility.
Keep up the good work, guys.

The program is simple and brief. In order to see EXIF of the photographs but from after right click click again.
Moreover, the right click will not become and will not be able to use.
Will be able to use a little more conveniently quickly and is the same good thing.

I love this plugin, it's so much nicer to use than others which display every single field from the EXIF data. However, I do wish it could show the Lens field too. In terms of importance, this is surely right up there with the camera body - if not more important, in fact!
Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (0.4.3.1-signed) del componente aggiuntivo.Lens informations aren’t located in standard EXIF data but in Maker Notes. Those differ in name, organisation a.s.o. for each manufacturer (and sometimes product line), and so I refrained from it to be honest. But I agree that it’s important and I just put it on the ToDo for 0.5 at least for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax – given I can find demo images (image donations are welcome).
Addendum: Oh, while looking at image files with lens informations I discovered it’s even ugglier than I feared. But I’ll nevertheless try it for 0.5. In the meantime you might have luck and the information is displayed for some images already with 0.4.x because this versions already evaluate that information when stored in the XMP block.
