This is the most used add-on in Thunderbird. This just makes organization so easy with about 40 folders in the mailbox. The developer is awesome. Reported a bug; fixed the next day. Thank you.

One of most useful tools which exist for Thunderbird!
Just one feature is missing: I would like to be able to copy the configurations from my desktop to my notebook...
Thanks! I've wanted to add a mechanism for synching configurations, or at least transferring them back and forth. It's more complicated than it seems, since each Thunderbird instance might know the same servers under different names. It's on my list of things to do, but I'm not sure when I'll have time to add it.

This is the addon that should come first in google search when searching for "thunderbird shortcut move mail to folder". It is fast to setup, and efficient to use. Makes me definitely more productive :) Thank you!

This is awesome! I got a keyboard shortcut to move messages and a way to search destination folder .... I cannot begin to describe how many minutes this is saving me everyday! HUGE THANKS!!!

I have a handful different messages I need to review as they come in, and then save in a folder. I typically review between 50 and a hundred of these messages a day. Archive This allows me send the messages to their respective folders with one keyboard move. And I can highlight a bunch of the messages and send them with one keyboard move. A real asset for those who hate to take their hand of the keyboard to grab the mouse

Thunderbird 3.1.7
Out of curiosity I upped the maxVersion in install.rdf and everything is working fine on Thunderbird 3.1.7.

Excellent add-on! I have one request, though, to make it perfect for my use:For the filter, include "LABEL" on the if-field.Since I use labels in Thunderbird, with a gmail imap account, this would be SUPER-AWESOME, as it would make labels in TB sync with labels in Gmail (by filtering and moving labeled mails to the folders that gmail interprets as labels). Please consider adding this in an update - I´d happily donate to make this happen.
EDIT:
If you also added a functionality for adding labels, we´d get at working 2-way sync between gmail labels and TB labels.

Thanks for making such an awesome add-on. I'm amazed that there aren't more that facilitate GTD. I just used Archive This to get my inbox to zero for the first time. Only took a few hours. Would have taken way longer without.

Really Good - my Gmail Inbox is large and I want to have a Zero Inbox - So with this I can set Keys to move notes to folders (tabs) easily. The TB standard way it slow and dragging is tricky when several folders
I really liked way Shortcut conflicts are highlighted.
But please add to known conflicts F3 Findagain and F6 Move to next mail pane
Thank You

This is a great extension for any user, but for us gmail/google-mail users, it is REQUIRED!!
TB already has message shortcuts A=archive and S=add-a-star, so I made D=Trash (i.e., move to gmail's Trash folder) because of course the delete key simply acts as an archive key. And it's nice to have all 3 keys in a row! (Those are straight key presses, no Alt, Ctrl, etc.)
I also have 3 special folders (the GTD productivity concepts), so I mapped U, I, and O to moves to those 3 folders. I used those 3 because they are the only 3 letter-keys in a row that are not already used by TB.
Thank you, thank you!!

Great Add-On. Perfect when using Gmail to force messages to the Trash Folder! Also allows you do program shift-delete to move a message to Gmail Trash.
Only downfall is that the keyboard shortcuts apply to all mail accounts... would like to see the ability to move messages within the same mail account using the same key combination as well as the current global method.
Version 1.4.5 adds this feature. When you modify a preset, you can now choose "Inbox," "Trash," "Sent," "Draft," or "Templates" from the bottom of the list. The preset will then file messages in the indicated special folder of the same account. Thanks for the suggestion!
P.S. Until version 1.4.5 is approved for publication, you can download it by clicking on the "view older versions" link at the bottom of this page.

Beautiful Extension
I Use Gina Trapiani of Lifehacker.com's idea of very few folders, and just search or sort for when you need to find something.
This has been a killer concept in practice. Thunderbird search is so effective I find whatever I want faster this way than trying to remember what folder it's in.
Other than my Inbox, I use:
Action
~Hold
~Archive
Note: The "tildes" (~) are just to keep everything in the same order I keep my desktop trays, My Documents organisation, and even my Firefox bookmarks.
With the *fantastic Archive This*, I set my own personal keywords for several folders, and then I can bounce emails back and forth.
I just use a SINGLE letter with no "ALT" for each of my keyboard shortcuts. It makes everything lightning fast.
These are the 6 shortcuts I use:
- A = Action
- H = Hold
- V = archiVe
- D = Deleted
- I = Inbox
- E = sEnt
I chose these letters as shortcuts because some others conflict with Thunderbird's built-in email navigation shortcuts.
These don't: This will save you time and wrist strain.
Cheers,
Christoph Dollis

THANK YOU
I was addicted to TBQuickMove, needed it for TB3.x
Now you put this out!

Can it be setup so it runs automatically every X amount of days like the Archive feature in Outlook?
Each folder can be archived like the retention policy does now but with more flexibility, so instead of just deleting items like the retention policy they can be moved to specific folders for archiving purposes based in content

Good stuff. Simple and very handy. First few shortcuts (ctrl1-ctrl4) clash with TBird defaults for page views - could be improved by allowing programmable keys instead of only Ctrl-1-9? Thankyou!

For what it does it works well but it doesn't go far enough. I'd like it to add the functionality in the SmartSave extension (that now seems to be unsupported and lacking in updates) SS allowed the complete export, out of TB, of archived messages.

Works well and adds some extras to filtering not in TB.
