Hi,
Would you like to propose your code as a fix of the following bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195702

Is has been suggested in comment #28

Gread Addon !
But would be nice also to see the file size of attachments in RECEIVED mails (for attachments at the end of the e-mail).

Strange, as I saw Version 0.0.81 floating around the net while addons.mozilla.org having V0.0.5

Hope the author or another update the Mozilla with the latest version.

Perfect (i just installed it and tryed with two pictures and it showes the correct size).

used version 0.0.8:
i tried this add-on (version 0.0.8) with a lot emails and large attachments (e.g. with images where each one is greater then 3mbytes).

preview of images is not available anymore - first image is cut off after a view pixels - all other images does not show up at all.
images sizes are displayed incorrectly also. (first only have a couple 100 of kbytes - all others have 0kbyte)

therefor - i am sorry - nice idea but: 1 star only.

Excellent - fixes the snag in TB that I've always regretted - it's too easy to send huge attachments without realising.
Version 0.0.8 available from http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?showtopic=5638&st=0&#entry27528 is the business.

It does what it says! However by enabling this add-on the full name/extension of the attachment is hiding with "....". I would suggest the ability to show the full filename be made available somehow.

Great Thing!
But it would be just more great to have an extra info line/spot that shows the size of all attachments together. This is especially useful with sending attachments, cause then you can keep your whole attachments size below certain mailboxe`s limits for example.

It does what it is supposed to do. :) Very useful if you are often sending and receiving attachments of digital art.

Attachment Sizes 0.0.8 version is buggy and is not signed!

My review here shows as April 15, 2008 not April 15, 2009!
This is not a bug report as the bugs are long since reported and not fixed, hence a "flying Dutchman".
Not signed and the measurement display are minor but are really the only changes from the 0.0.5 and are pertinent to people deciding to go to the other website and update it or not.

Is there an alternative add-on that displays in KB/kb?
If you still use the 0.0.5 version then stick with it because the "updated 0.0.8" is not worth the time and effort.

------------------------------
Bug: I changed the decimal places to 0 and I still get 1 decimal place
ie "32.7 kB" instead of "33 KB". Bug: The new version has a size bug.

Which someone posted a "corrected" 0.0.8.1 version that seems very, very unofficial...
------------------------------
0.0.8 has only the kB and KiB formats.
I'd like to see KB -1024 and kb -1000 available too.
(KB/MB/GB/TB/PB/etc...) ie. 10676 Bytes = 10.7KB / 11KB, (kb/mb/gb/tb/pt/etc...) ie. 10676 Bytes = 10.4kb / 10kb, (Kb/Mb/Gb/Tb/Pb/etc...) ie. 10676 Bytes = 85408 bits

Technical Note:
KB = KiloBytes = 1024 Bytes, kb = kilobytes = 1000 binary Bytes, Kb = Kilobits = 8192 (1024 Bytes * 8 bits = 8192 Kb)

----------------------------------------------------
I changed my rating today because I'm still using (ver 0.0.5) this addon 3+ years later. But I can't be bothered to upgrade TBird (for many reasons).
Anyways this addon seems pretty stable and more reliable then others I've tried.

Thanks for displaying the units in KiB. So many programs (mostly Microsoft's fault) use the nonsensical "K=1024" definition, making it impossible to tell whether "KB" means 1000 or 1024. Finally someone gets it right.

This works great! Thanks! I didn't know there was an extension for this. It fixes Bug 26517: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26517

And thanks for using the correct units. It's good to see open source software fixing the stupid status quo. Microsoft's practice of using "MB" to mean one thing here and another thing there is nonsensical.

It's really great to see the size of attachments before sending an email!

Also great is the display of KiB instead of KB - that helps that people get aware of the difference: KB are 1000 B, KiB are 1024 B.

But I'm really missing the display of attachments with messages on IMAP accounts.

Assegnate 2 su 5 stelle

When I view a message with attachments for an imap account, this extension does not seem to be able to accurately display the attachment size.

Also, I don't know about anyone else but I hate seeing the size displayed in KiB instead of just KB or MB. I know there is a difference between kilobits and kilobytes but we are all used to seeing file sizes as KB and MB. Wish there was an option to change this.

Have installed on Thunderbird 2. It may be old, but it works great. Handy little item.
