I needed to disable java on Twitter only and this add-on did the trick. PERFECT!

@avada: if you want a whitelist, install noscript, which is a javascript whitelist.

I think this needs a whitelist too. For example on one website there's this really annoying page background ad link (which I constantly click accidentally), which since it's in js is there even if I hide the background in with the adblocker. But I need for the forum to work properly. (Where there aren't any background ads.) So I have to block/enable the site all the time.

Some of my favorite website forums have recently been using a JavaScript which changes selected text to HTML popup advertising links. Quite annoying to say the least. When scrolling the page, if the cursor touches the linked text and ad pops up.

Turning off JavaScript in Firefox (Options/Content/Enable JavaScript) works, but that disables all JavaScript in all pages all the time.

The solution is "YesScript." it allows you to disable JavaScript for individual websites as you choose by adding them to the blacklist in YesScript. It is simple, easy, non-intrusive, and user-selectable as to where the Add-on is enforced.

Fantastic Add-On! THANK YOU!

This addon has worked well for me in the past. But this version will no longer display in the browser add-on bar.

Fantastic, that way only the websites abusing of JS are blacklisted. Very cool plugin!

Its OK now, and there is no need to worry about answering my question. I was misguided but some guru guidance what I had earlier, before adding the YesScript.

I JUST Got iT under:

Tools / Add-ons / Extensions & to add further addresses there is [Options] button.

And it works cool and remembers what is added in the list [ as I read somebody says, it doesn't remember ].

Thanks a lot and Godspeed.

After a false start and one reinstall (of the add in) I suddenly realised that it was working beautifully and I was being a prat. It does exactly what I want - fantastic.

This is a great extension that allows me to keep my sanity. A problem I've been encountering more & more frequently is login pages: I can no longer drag & drop my long passwords (or copy & paste). When I toggle this extension, it allows me to do so. Once I'm in, I must toggle it off, again, because the site does require Javascript to display properly.

I wish there was a way to blacklist ONLY the login page URL (i.e. www.*****.com/login)

Absolutely essential on the Old Primitive Puter that gets bogged down by the Drudge tab. On the New Puter the Drudge refresh is still a pain in the A**!

EZ to use with the statusbar icon, people!

PS Thanks JJL for the intelligent review encouraging more of the same!

This could be a great add-on with a few more features. Disabling the ability for select sites to not run JavaScript can be very useful, especially for web developers. Unfortunately, where a scalpel is wanted a kluge is all that's available with this add-on. If the ability to stop specific scripts, especially in-line ones, was added this would be top notch.

I have logical problems concerning the purpose of this:

IF "Firefox is secure enough by default" than what would be the point in blocking scripts? Especially if, as it seems to me, there is no way to differentiate between scripts. (At least my intuition did not lead me to any UI element to do so.)
You just allow or deny execution of ANY scripts on that page. So as to the parania part: Users might get paranoid with a programm, that does neither tell them, what (domains from) scripts are trying to be loaded or have been blocked from that.

Despite these logical problems the addon seems to do it#s job just fine and block any script on a given page. So you gained hassle without hassle, because many sites have their own scripts and 3p-scripts loaded. I simply do not see any point in blocking all scripts point blank. THAT in fact, might as well be considered paranoid in a strange limited way ...

I have to add the address 4 or 5 times to get it to take, and it forgets the list every time I shut down my browser. So I end up attempting to re-enter the same sites over and over and half the time I can't get it to accept the address.

With extentions we try to ease difficulties. But without buttons, right clicking function or hotkeys it's becoming burden job when you deal with YesScript to blacklist.

So how exactly do you get it to actually save the sites that I enter into it?

So far it dumps the list every time firefox restarts and have to do it all over again .... wtf???
