I appreciate the nuanced control of 'full domain' mode but some sites like to fractionalize fuctionality across a dozen subdomains. It would be much much simpler to allow
s*.domain.tld
instead of
s1.domain.tld
s2.domain.tld
s3.domain.tld
s4.domain.tld
s4.domain.tld
s5.domain.tld
s5.domain.tld
Either as "allow requests" outright or "allow requests from"
Hi, it would be great if you could give me some more info about the need for s*.domain.tld. I've been slowly laying out the plan to implement wildcards and at the moment I'm going in the direction of allowing wildcards like this:
*.domain.tld
*.sub.domain.tld
but no wildcards anywhere else. That is, wildcards only to indicate "anything below here" but not generic string matching wildcards. And no regular expressions for now. I'd like to know if this would be what you need, partly what you need, or almost useless to you. The relevant ticket is here:

Thanks!

Essential to protect you against favicon requests or any other requests made by a web page or its cached copy. Even if the page is saved locally on your computer, it can still make requests !.

major annoyance: this extension blocks redirects with no option to disable except on a site specific basis. FF already offers the option to warn you of redirects, so why this is being duplicated in RequestPolicy i do not know. perhaps the author has a good reason, but at the very least there needs to be an option to disable this annoying behavior.

Thank you for this add-on. I had been looking for some time a way to block images from sites whilst still allowing that site to have Java script enabled for advanced options. I had written a workaround for this in Stylish(which I didn't really want to keep installed) but this still loaded the images in the background. Sometimes one of the images would hang and slow down the whole process of the page loading.
This wasn't the main reason I installed this add-on but it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless.

good start, but missing badly needed features. missing:
- white list/black list
- change prefs WITHOUT reloading page
- enable/disable with left click (right now you get same menu with left or right click - redundant)

Great Add-On although why does it always block the images on Brief (RSS Reader). You have to Temporarily Allow all Requests to get these!! Still gets 5 stars from me. Can it be fixed?

A really nice add-on you made here. It does a great job blocking flash overlay ads on YouTube.

With 3.5.3, my system is slowed way down. I had to shut it off to get decent speed again. Otherwise it is great! Please let me know when it is optimized for 3.5.3.

If you want to help make it better, please get in contact with me through one of the support channels so that we can track down what's slowing things down for you. I can't seem to repeat the issue and I'm not sure of anything in the code that could slow things down. So, if there's an issue using RequestPolicy on your system, it's probably a bug I don't know about rather than something I need to optimize. Thanks!

Really really really great add-on. I recently get rid of adblock who slowed my browser, RequestPolicy is what I was looking for. Speed up browsing and easy to use.
And by the way, I support Ticket #27. I like a clean statusbar ;)

Fantastic little tool, if slightly arduous in the beginning, but then so is no-script. The added bonus of removing the cross checking of add trackers is speeding up the rendering of pages. Increased privacy plus increased speed is only a good thing, just remember to add a good cookie manager and add-block and you're set.
If there's one great flaw in it as a compliment to no-script it's the fact that it's backup settings is both manual and wholly independent. That is to say, you have to manually backup creating a separate file you have to handle in addition to firefox rather than no-scripts solution of automatic backup to a bookmark for quick, easy synchronisation via exporting bookmarks, FEBE or Mozilla weave project. Although once that is fully integrated into firefox most extensions will backup to a bookmark.

I've been using this addon for quite a long time. It was an experimental addon when I installed it initially. But just looking into the concept, I was just amazed why this addon was place as a experimental one? when it should have been a mozilla recommended addon. Apart from the security aspect, it also speeds up loading the webpage since unwanted stuffs are out..!
Mozilla Firefox (secure browser) + adblockplus (block ads) + noscript (default deny for scripts) + cookie monster (default deny for cookies) + request policy (default deny for cross site requests) = 99% safe surfing...!! will you ever think of another browser?
Just to add.. one of my friend was booking an online ticket and me too.. he was on IE and myself on Mozilla... both started the same time. I completed my booking by the time he entered the website..haha

I've been using this addon for a while now and I like it very much, however there seems to be a problem with the toolbar button, which works as long as the status bar is open, and becomes inoperable once you close it. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could include a fix for this.

Mein aktuelles Lieblings-Addon! Eine der wichtigsten Erweiterungen überhaupt, besonders empfehlenswert in Kombination mit NoScript - ohne die beiden sollte man nicht ins Internet gehen. ;-)

A real eye-opener. - I have allowed some destinations that I trust, but for the rest I just enable them temporarily when needed.

I've been trying RequestPolicy for a last week or so. The add-on is great and does the job wonderfully. I just love to see how many of those sneaky, little "big brothers" are left on cold by RequestPolicy. It's easy to manage too. No trouble at all.
The developer provides very good support too. I had a problem accessing one site. Justing responded within an hour and in another couple of hours send me a link to a beta with the problem fixed.
Many thanks for the much need add-on.

Firefox has needed something like this for a LONG time. The ability to selectively allow/deny third party requests is not a panacea but it IS an absolutely essential... CORE... feature when it comes to security and privacy. Bravo to Mr. Samuel for doing what others could or would not!!
I was surprised by how little time it took me to configure things for the thirty or forty sites I most frequently visit. There were one or two glitches (which I did not investigate), but overall the addon worked quite well.
I am hoping that development and testing of this addon will continue. Perhaps with the help of a forum at RequestPolicy.com where supporters may contribute to the effort and communicate with others.
Thank you for the positive words. As for a forum at RequestPolicy.com, I haven't decided about a forum yet (I may keep using http://forums.mozillazine.org/). However, I'll probably at least setup Trac or something similar in the near future so that bug reports and feature requests will be easier to keep track of as well as easier for people to voice their opinions on (and maybe even contribute code to).

Or can on the contrary? Who knows? ^-^
I like it!

Wonderful addition to NoScript. But you can control all cross-requests with it, not only for scripts.
Browsing becomes an endless sequence of configuring...
Thanks. And, yes, there definitely is some rule setting that goes on in the first week or so of usage. The feedback I've gotten as well as my own experience was that after about a week, most of one's commonly visited sites have been configured and one doesn't interact with the extension as much.
