An add-on that I use very fondly.
However, after the latest Thunderbird upgrade, this plugin no longer works.
Please upgrade the plugin

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6).

Just update your addons. It is fully compatible with TB68.

Great plugin, I use it every day.
The only thing missing is an HTML editor right in the configuration panel.
Thanks

TB 68.1.1 32 Bit
Quicktext 2.3

Runs again at new TB - Thanks.

Unfortunately, working with a keyword no longer works correctly. If I type the keyword at the beginning of a line and then space QT does not recognize this. I have to enter a blank after the beginning of the line, then the shortcut - then it works.
At the very beginning of the message it still funcs correctly...

Thanks for correction in Quicktext 2.4.
I'm happy again :-)

One of the best add.on for Thunderbird... Thank you for your wonderful work.
Any chance you could make it work with version 60.8 ?
I see that it works with new version 68 but most other adds on do not so and we do not know when authors will update. Therefore, I had to reverse to 60.8 to comply with other adds on but quick text is not compatible - I need quick-text please which I use on a daily basis.

Version 1.5 ist compatible with TB 60.* and it should install just fine if you search for it in the AddOn Manager of TB60. Otherwise it is listed on the "other versions" page of quicktext.

Is there a way to give this plugin more than 5 stars? This should be in every user's installation.

I'm in the middle of a job search. I'm looking in a specific city and for a specific job and I make this clear to all of the recruiters I deal with. I get all kinds of referrals for positions well outside of my search area, or for positions that don't fit my skill set. I also get inappropriate requests (I.e. I have a job, how much do you want to be paid?) . To save time, I've created some template responses that I could copy and paste when sending responses for these recurring messages. The problem was that it took time to copy and paste, and I still have to customize the message salutation or date.

With Quicktext, I can select the appropriate template with a very few key strokes, the salutation is set from the recruiter's email and it has even been set based on "Good morning", or "Good afternoon" time, dates in the body of the message are set from the scripting as well. Lastly, my resume is automatically attached (soo no more forgetting it).
This has been a big help in answering messages, whether I'm letting the recruiter know the position is a bad skills fit, in the wrong location (or both), a request for additional information, or any other message.

A really big thank you to the people that are supporting this program. Honestly, I find it to be the very best option I have and use it many times every day, it is invaluable in my business and saves me from continually repeating myself in emails when customers ask for information. I just wanted to let you know that I am truly thankful for your ongoing support of QUICKTEXT

Thank you, thank you, thank you

There is an encoding issue in version 2.1. If I create a template with non-ascii characters (czech in my case) and reopen thunderbird then these characters are broken. I use TB 68.0b1.

How to reset the COUNTER

If you want to reset the COUNTER, you can do this in the Thunderbird preferences.

Open the "Preferences" (Unix) or "Options" (Windows) interface. On the "Advanced" page, select the "General" tab then click the "Config Editor" button.
Then search for "extensions.quicktext.counter" entry.

The value shows the current state of the counter.
Double-click the entry and change the value to 0.
