Silvermel

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When TB 10.0?? Who cares about "just check the relevant Silvermel forum for download link" to some get pre-trunk-r thing. Whatever that is and don't care. Don't make me look for another theme! :) :)

Perspectives

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Uninstalled. After several months of use, I got tired of seeing "no results" from their servers. Like a security company that fails to answer the phone half the time - what good is it? Perspectives is a noble effort and I wish them luck as they move forward.

Change Referer Button

Perfect. Having used it since 2005, I never actually needed all of RefControl's granularity tho I did have to whitelist many sites (paypal, banks, amazon, etc.). I had to abandon it when it went broken in Firefox 5 (fully documented and emailed to Mr. Abbatiello. Twice.). CRB is an elegant solution. I keep it at zero 99.9% of the time and when I have to refer I hit that nice big icon as needed. THANKS cK-LFC!! Goodbye RefControl.

RefControl

I've been using this extension with success for years. But I must agree with previous reviewer Paul Leger - it's not working anymore. I wrapped up a report and some screen shots and emailed them to James, as yet unanswered. Hopefully it'll get fixed. In the meantime, I'm un-installing. Sad.

I'm running v2.0.6 with Perspectives 2.4 in Firefox 5.0 Portable under WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit. No problems.

Feature request: a user configurable setting to enable and time out (i.e. 10 seconds) to collapse the yellow bar. See that in action with the BetterPrivacy add-on "Autoremove message after .... seconds" Thank you!

OptimizeGoogle

A-OK for a long time in FF3 (I never used FF4).
This extension is mostly broken in FF5. Sticky prefs seem to work but ads aren't blocked, filters don't filter. Looking forward to fixes. Thanks and good luck!

XNote++

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

XNote as installed in TB 3.0.x WILL NOT survive an upgrade to TB 3.1. THE INSTALLER GIVES FAIR WARNING OF THIS and if you choose to continue, XNote WILL BE DISABLED!

I inquired with Lorenz Froihofer and he had this to report:
"Currently, I don't have the time to investigate this. Probably the extension works as is and just needs to be allowed to be used with TB 3.1. You could try that for a TB 3.1 test installation. The only thing you have to do in order to make XNote install on TB 3.1 is to extract the installation file with a ZIP-extractor, change the line "3.0.*" to "3.1.*" in install.rdf, ZIP it again, rename .zip to .xpi, install it, and see if everything works. If no, we need to upgrade the code."

I uninstalled the XNote running in my current TB 3.0.4 and then installed the extension modified as above. The update to TB 3.1 went smoothly without alerts and XNote works just fine!

Even though it worked for me, proceed at your own risk.

Toolbar Buttons

Well, the "no sign up needed" codefisher forum thinks I'm a spammer, so... Requesting, please, a button to open google as https. Thank you!
