I love this addon.
I noticed that the find field icon doesn't disappear when there is no text there, like it does in the address and search bars.
Thanks!

As far as I can tell, the Windows version of FF doesn't erase the clipboard when you mark search text, so all it does for those folks is add the "clear button".

Simple, and effective for me as linux user. Thank you.
If someone wants the 'broom' gtk icon used by firefox in linux:
list-style-image: url("moz-icon://stock/gtk-clear?size=menu") !important;

Excellent add-on. Simple, straight forward, does exactly what it says.
Thank you.

Very nice!
Can you port this extension to Thunderbird 3?
Moreover, can you think a different customizing method than editing the userChrome.css file?

In keeping with Safari emulation, I think it would be great if this worked seamlessly with the GrApple Firefox themes: http://cl.ly/xEU
This is how it currently looks like for me: http://cl.ly/wcx

Works great with Oxygen KDE and Omnibar but it does not work with Strata40 and Omnibar

It's very useful if you're a heavy awsome bar user

It looks nicer than Clear Fields, but I still use Clear Fields instead because of that button in Navigation Toolbar that clears all fields on loaded website with one click. If you could add similar option (clear all fields on loaded website), then Xclear would be far better than Clear Fields.

Hi Peter:
Thank you very much for the development work on this. It makes Firefox a better browser for both MS & Linux OS!
I have a suggestion for the future. Websites have gone nuts about using the "Description" block for bookmarks. At least 99% of the time it is an advertisement or other useless information that does no more than add size to the bookmarks file(s).
So the suggestion is to extend this Addon to add the clear button to the bookmark fields, especially the "description" field.
It seems like a logical progression of the basic function of xclear. What do you think?
- A grateful user.

I used to use konquifox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2671 but this is far better. Good work. I'll promote it as much as I can.

This add-on not only clears fields, but also head-aches and heart-aches, leaving you free to write add-on reviews while being sure to reiterate your enthusiasm by including as many commas and hyphenated-words as possible, much in the way a high-school sophomore would submit an essay primarily composed of run-on sentences.
