It is great. I tested it many months ago and it was very unstable and sluggish but now is almost perfect. Just wonder if you can replace the "Login failed" popup by a message in any other place than a pop-up. Pop-ups sucks seriously!

You might have to change the encoding you are working with to download the file. Go to Account Manager->Advanced->Server Encoding and perhaps try West European->Western (ISO-8859-1) or whatever region the server might be located in (e.g. Chinese servers tend to use East Asian->Chinese Simplified (GB18030

By far the most useful tool I have found. Makes uploading and editing websites incredibly easy. (Great to use in junction with notepad++)

You can throw all the other FTP software you have away. This is all you need. Thanks FireFTP. This is a keeper.

Been using this extension for years. I prefer it over the FTP built into Dreamweaver. I use it to manage all of my websites. Easy to use, and has been rock solid. Thanks so much!

A hell of a lot better than most of the paid stand alone FTP clients I've used.

Don't need to use any other FTP client, just this one Firefox extension.

It's a good ftp except (unless I'm doing something wrong) it doesn't save passwords and I can't access external HDD where I save my websites as I don't want to clutter up main drive.

I'm not sure if it's a problem with my setup/distribution or the addon itself, but FireFTP would only connect for me in SFTP mode if firefox itself is 32 bit. Otherwise, it would say "Unable to make a connection" (typical of incorrect info/user/pass I gather, but not the case). FireFTP otherwise works fine in the 64 bit browser for all other connection types. The working setup is pretty bizarre: Arch Linux 64 bit, 32 bit Firefox 3.0.10 (bin32-firefox tweak, see AUR putty-svn), 64 bit Putty (afaict). Changing firefox back to Arch's default 64 bit 3.0.10 without changing the connection info? Dead as a doornail SFTP on FireFTP. Very weird.

Hope that helps someone with the same issue.

Otherwise, this add-on is great. Thanks.

Easily the best FireFox ad on for web developers. Works on my Mac OSX FireFox as well. Kudos. Don't forget to donate to this well deserved developer.

At first i could not connect to any site but one. What happened was that there is a bug in FireFTP that was placing on of my sites host info in the proxy setting. I had to go to Tools>Options and the Proxy tab. I just deleted the proxy info. Bingo. Fixed. Seems to be working now.

Thanks for the free tool.

Awesomely useful, one of my most used add-ons. Takes a little to get used to it, and the features on it now mean i rarely use another ftp.
