the new update 2.0.6 does not work. I downgrade to prev version it works until i shut down and then 2.0.6 comes back. Pain in the butt. Followed link to 2.0.7 as shown here and it does not work - always gives me 2.0.6. what's the fix or should I go to filezilla?

update: I installed 2.0.7 and it does not work. I am either stuck with 2.0.5 with it's limitations or using filezilla. Sad, because I did enjoy fireftp and had my entire team using it.

Try this link - this is the direct link to the 2.0.7 download:

URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
Line Number= 303
Error message= TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined
URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
Line Number= 2

Here's a screenshot of the error: http://d.pr/i/gd7O

Thanks in advance!

FireFTP is an extension for Firefox that is on the level of a stand-alone FTP client.
Easy to use, comes with advanced features such as: directory comparison, syncing directories, SFTP, SSL support, search, file hasing, drag and drop, and much more.
And it's all free.

FireFTP is perfection! It works beautifully, easily, and every time, without a hitch. It has replaced all my other FTP clients and has helped improve our business productivity hugely. Many thanks!

A fantastic tool to manage all my FTP addresses. It was never that easy to jump between different accounts. But there is one wish: It would be great if the Add-on could work like Xmarks or sync, so that you always have an updated list of addresses on all your computers. Love that Add-on anyway.

FireFTP allows you to quickly perform FTP functions inside your browser tab; this makes minor changes to your site extremely fast. FireFTP finds a great balance between too many bells and whistles and simplicity, giving you the power to do what you need to do in a typical FTP sessions and not clutter the addon with advanced FTP functions.

FireFTP is easy to use to add new content to a site, because it opens in a tab on your browser rather than being whole other program. FireFTP is one of my core addons for web development and allows me to make those minor changes and updates even quicker.

I've used FirefTP for years for FTP, and it works good. It lists SFTP as a feature. I told people it had SFTP, when they couldn't make it work I figured they just did something wrong. Today, while setting up a new Windows 7 machine, I had to use SFTP. It didn't work. Too many authentication failures it said. I doubted that very much. I downloaded Filezilla, a program I had never used before, and it connected instantly. Installed WinSCP set it up for SFTP, and tried it. Connected instantly. Turned off the firewall and tried FireFTP again. Same error.

I also don't like it that it keeps trying to connect every 10 seconds until the server blacklists you. There is not way to stop it. The old one doesn't do that. Disconnect doesn't work, abort doesn't work. You have to close the tab to get out of it. If that's the new default, it loses another vote.

Next I went back to my old XP machine where I had been using FireFTP for years.. Same 2.04 version. I set up SFTP there as well. Didn't work there either, but at least it didn't keep trying to make a connection after it failed.

Due to the work-from-anywhere culture we live in, it's not healthy to work with unencrypted connections at public hotspots. If you must manually distribute keys etc. to make it work, from any practical viewpoint, it has no SFTP.. This is for FTP only

Sorry you're having issues with the SFTP. If you have the time can you report the authentication bug on http://fireftp.mozdev.org/developers.html or send me an email at mimecuvalo@gmail.com with debug information turned on (tools->options->interface->show debug info). This will help me figure out the issue for future users!

I'm not sure about the disconnect/abort not working - can't reproduce that...but I'll keep trying to see if I can get the error to happen on my machines.

Thanks for the feedback!
