This is a must have plugin. Unfortunately it takes a while to have a version of the plugin compatible with the latest releases of Thunderbird. Nowadays that we get a new release of Thunderbird very often it is quite frustrating to have this plugin KO most of the time. Would be great to have this basic and very useful feature integrated directly into Thunderbird.

I installed the version 1.0.4 from the author's web site. This version is compatible with TB3.1. Fortunately I ran a test case before committing to it's use. I was trying to set up a filter that would automatically forward to email-A each message sent to email-B. Instead of forwarding just the current message, it forwarded to email-A ALL messages in the "Sent" folder that had been sent to email-B. The next time I sent a message to email-B, the filter again sent ALL messages in the Sent folder that satisfied the criterion.I suppose I could fool around with the filter and add an action to move the target message to another folder ("reallySent"), thus deleting it from the Sent folder -- but I can do that using basic TB filters, so why use this filter? A nice tutorial or reference guide would have been nice.

A great add-on for something that should be integrated into TB.
Unfortunately it is not compatible with TB 3.1 ...

Is it possible that Developer give us update on TB 3.0.4 (says it is not compatible)

As we can see Mozilla didn't implemented option to filter outgoing messages although it was talked about that.

Redards, and thank you for your good work.

Found this today. Thought of it a couple weeks ago :)

Does what I need. Specific note: it doesn't check the Sent folder when you click the "Run Now" button in filters

But I sent a test email with the filter I'd tried to get working two weeks ago, and it caught that message and retroactively caught a couple others that were still sitting in my Sent box.

Thank you!

Nice addon :-)

But the infos here are out of date.
Version 1.0.3 (TB 3.0.*) is already available: http://www.xzer.net/harvest/sendfilter/

And it seems that this functionality is going to be implemented into TB 3 soon:

Hi there. This works very well on my POP accounts but not my IMAP ones. The developer mentioned more than a year ago in this thread that this was a known issue that would be fixed that week. Still no fix. Is a fixed release planned at all? Thanks.

Hi xzer lr,

I downloaded this few times around this year and never make it worked.

I think you should raised a actual set of filters that are working for example.

For me here, It's like the extension not installed at all.

I knew I may be too dumb and that's why I think you should presented some sample we can followed and figured it out where we wrong.

Thanks,

I just call the filters after you send a mail, I think what you want is need the response from TB develop team.

Hello Xzer,

Is it possible to use this to send a duplicate mail from another email account? This would be good option to evade spam filters which we have trouble with our legitimate emails.

For example, I send mail from:
ac1@test.com
After sending it, I want the same mail automatically sent from ac1@gmail.com
to the same recipient. Both accounts are configured at our TB.

Thanks

Great add-on. Adds a checkbox to apply message filters to sent messages. I use this to automatically tag my sent messages, and to move them away to an archive folder. Works like a charm with Thunderbird 2.0.0.19.

I think the filters run on every "send" for the entire folder. It would be nice if the filter will apply only to the one email sent and not loose time with the others.

Good idea, but simply doesn't work. I've checked "Enable autorun..", my sent messages are saved in "Sent" folder, my filter rules are OK (manual triggering works fine) but nothing happens after sending a message. I'm using Mac OS X.

There is a known problem when you use a IMAP server it will not work properly, I will release the fix in this week, so please just wait.

nice idea but, as with the previous poster, i can't seem to get this to work with thunderbird 2.0.0.16 (20080708)
fyi, i came looking for an automatic send filter solution to automatically remove my spamcop submittals from my send folder, whilst leaving my normal correspondence intact.
guess i'll be needing thunderbird 3 also, though i appreciate your attempt.

Great idea, but it simply does not seem to work for me. Have checked the check box in Message Filters, and in Account Settings have chosen Place a copy in: Other: Inbox>Sent.
If I click Tools>Run Filters on Folder, things work fine.
Looks like I'll be hanging out for TB3

Nice work, I would love it if you could make your program run filters on other folders. Specifically the 'Sent' folder. This would allow outgoing filters which Thunderbird is severely lacking.

Keenly awaiting the next release ;)

I said that it work on the folder which you save you outgoing messages at. It rest with your own define, and we all know the default is 'Sent'....
