I would have never thought I'd find the best free IRC client in a Firefox Addon, the only thing missing, is I wish the tabs would flash on new messages. but this is a great alternative to mIRC.

It is very good and useful when clicking on irc links.
Hopefully you'll add a way of saving your favorite channels and server so we can all navigate to them easier.

This add-on is perfect for me. It allows me to easily use IRC. But more commands could be added to allow more commands (like register a nickname on services that allow it).

oh dear, my-my... haven't we learned anything fm Microsoft yet?? Do not... EVER ... upsate anything until the powers that be have updated everything else that may go along with it!!!
From experience, when I (loosely & guardedly) "upgraded" my Firefox to ver 3.x... well, I lost access to my skin (that I liked immensely) and a coupla other add-ons (that I could do w/o)... but it all pee'ed me off to the point that I figured Mozilla to be just another MS rip-off.
Just remember, upgrades are towards the specific pgm, not any type of plug-in or add-on. Open Source does NOT guarantee compatibility to shite.
Mozilla Rules!! Firefox Rules!!! Just give 'em a coupla weeks/months to get the rest into gear (natch meaning the creators of aforesaid plugs & adds to update yer frakin stuff, dudes!!!)

I really like chatzilla so far but didn't see anything in the FAQ regarding colors for specific nicks, like in mIRC where you can use the address book and nick colors tab to do this. Will chatzilla get something like that in the future or does this need to be done by a third party script; If so what would be a good site to look around for it at? I tried searching google but didn't find any good results regarding this.

Overall great extension for IRC but I'd like an easy way to specify colors for certain nicks.

Great addon, before I used to use irssi but this one is so much simpler.

I can't install the plugin. The plugin installer says : "ChatZilla 0.9.86 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.3." (Portable Apps windows version). The mozilla plugin install is a piece of crap... I can't upgrade most of my plugins since I upgraded to firefox 3.6.3... Boo! Mozilla! Great plugin, but I have not found how to use it...

It said the download was corrupt until I signed up to post this review. The addon's nice, but every addon I've tried to install said corrupt download until I signed up. Five stars to chatzilla, negative-one-hundred stars to Mozilla's Add-On system.

Chatzilla was a real disappointment given it's fame and rating :-(
it's barely usable unless you know IRC commands by heart. totally broken for me, though your mileage may vary.
These guys did a good job but unfortunately I would have to go back to mIRC

I was up and running / downloading on iRC within 2 mins of installing Chatzilla, I do recommend that anyone new to iRC read up on it first, but this is probably the easiest iRC client to get started on.

ChatZilla is a very useful add-on, allowing users to connect to IRC networks & channels from within Firefox.

As ChatZilla is designed to be simple, it does lack a lot of features as compared to other IRC programs such as mIRC, but overall, it is a great & easy-to-use add-on & I enjoy using it.

Low security : I saw no SSL connect ^^ Better UI look than X-chat, and possibility to create aliases for irc commands...
Can't use it on my personnal IRC server... sorry

excellent ! simply excellent ! Useful , easy to hand , and free open source as a Firefox addon : i find this a lot more helpful than others shareware irc clients such as the often used in tutorials mIRC ! Why to pay a licence while I can use such a good addon ?? ^^

Thanks for all your job !

Mostly very good. Best I've found, but still a bit of a hunt to find what I need in preferences. Sorry to hear about revkaryn's experience - that's a turn-off.
