It recognizes birthdays imported with FinchSync! I hope this is mainstreamed into Tb/Lightning soon, it's standard PIM functionality.

I have been using this add-on for months without problems - but with a real valuable enhancement!
Looking at the code of 0.2.8 and comparing to 0.2.7, I don't see any reason to keep this in sandbox!
It should be opened to public before the release of Lightning 0.9 to keep the (unnecessary) error messages from end-users!
Thanks for the (quick) code review! Keeping the update in sandbox is just part of the usual procedure. An official reviewer will have a look at it as soon as he can. After that, the new version will be made public immediately. Advanced users can download the new version from the sandbox in the meantime (other users shouldn\'t use release candidates anyway, should they?).

This extension makes Thunderbird as efficient for me as the text clients I'd become so used to. Every serious user should install it.

I still miss the birthdays cause it only display event, I think we definitely need a pop up alarm !?

Actually the Add-on is not doing what the name suggest :-) BirhtDAY - the Add-on requires that a year is given in the extended contact information otherwise the birthday is not shown in the calendar. Would be nice to relax this since the year of birth is often unlikely to know.
Four out of five stars! The Add-on is just working, the suggested extensions to the contact information make sense. Good work, keep going!
I admit that it\'d be nice if one had not to specify the year, but in Lightning, some year has to be specified. Maybe I could set the year to 0 if no year was specified and not display the age in this case...

I really miss the functionality of Thunderbirthday in the newest Lighting for Thunderbird! Please update the add-on so it can be used again.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.7).Please understand that I cannot follow every minor change in the development of Lightning. I'll try to release a new version short before the final version of Lightning, when changes become less frequent. Also, you might try to just change the maxVersion value in install.rdf.

I agree that the same thing for the anniversaries would be awesome, but I love ThunderBirthDay already as it is =) Thanks!

This works pretty well. If I could get reminders, that would be even sweeter and result in more stars.

Great extension !
I too would like to be able to do the same with anniversaries, in a separate calendar. Being able to parameter a reminder a few days before would be great...

Works great. Just what I was looking for! :-)
One thing, however, would be nice. It's (I think), a read only attribute of the event in Lightning calendar. When I sync it with my mobile (with BirdieSync) , I can't change/edit anything.
If I do change something (a category, all day event, etc.), can't sync it back anymore. Must delete it in address book, and write it (the date) again.
Some more freedom in editing events in Lightning would be nice.

GREAT extension! Just wondered how I can get a popup window on startup as with the regular events in other calenders... hope someone can help!
Looking forward to the next version of this extension!

Useful extension. Any chance of a version that displays anniversary info as well?

v0.2.5 will not let me add the TunderBirthday calendar. After I choose the addressbook(s), clicking "Next" does nothing.

Seems to work nicely, but it would be killer if I could add birthdays to the address book from the calendar (based on name match)
