It's a simple and useful add-on!
Save me a lot of screen space.

Wonderful! My only criticism is that it inexplicably puts a “bookmarks” button in the bookmarks toolbar and there’s no way to get rid of it! Very annoying as I never access the bookmarks menu.

I love this add-on. I have a thing for being compact, and my menu was taking up a lot of space! this helped dramatically. Although I didn't like the icon, I made my own, which looks seamless if used with 4.0 beta. link: http://i884.photobucket.com/albums/ac50/AARON786/sss.png?t=1292116524

Very great add-on! I wished my Firefox to look as neat as the new Internet Explorer 9, so I wanted to reduce the toolbar space Mozilla Firefox occupies in the screen for a better browsing experience (more screen space especially for small computer screens, as what Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 9 delivers). I think it has done its purpose, so guys there keep up the good work!

I can confirm there is a bug in Compact Menu 2 on Firefox 3.6.12 for Linux - every time I add a bookmark I get an 'Assertion Failed' error. When I disable Compact Menu 2, the error does not appear.

I use it since some time and it's a great tool but since last weeks I can see a delay between the Firefox window opening and the menu items compacting. It could be a very little problem if it was not disturbing the other icons of the menu bar. When menu is not compact during half a second, the classic menu is too big in width and pushes my right icons "out of bar" (with a little arrow on the right to access the other icons by a drop-down menu). Finally the menu becomes compact, the space wasted by the classic menu items is now saved but... the icons that was "out of bar" stay invisible even if there's far enough space to display them. I can recover my menu bar just by moving up and down the width of my Firefox window then it's ok since the next application start, but well... it's annoying anyway as I'm installing Compact Menu 2 to my clients browser.

Sometime the Menu Bar shows itself after adding a Bookmark by clicking on "star" in url box.
Have to uncheck Menu Bar again to close.
Behaviour is irregular. Don't know if last Compact or Firefox update caused this.

Very useful to save screen space especially since AFAIK, this is the only one of it's kind that works on Thunderbird.
Just a small "problem": on TB3 the button is wider than on TB2. I suppose this is because by default, it should have the label beside it just like all the other buttons.

I don't know what it was that changed during the 3.6.11 to 3.6.12 update, but just like every time Firefox is updated on XP, Compact Menu broke. Didn't say it wasn't compatible, still says it is, but I don't get any kind of menu icon, and it's finally at the point I'm done with compact menu. I'm done dealing with some program that for about half it's 'shelf life' you have to keep it off so it can be fixed. Again I don't know why it does it, but don't use if you have XP and are on 3.6.12 build at least until a month or two into this current release.

It does what it says, it hides the bar, but it puts a big splash notice in the screen saying that the button was added, but that took up a lot of screen space so I couldn't read or click on things below it.
Also it prevented me from going to some of the tabs on the left end of the bar.
Deleted after 1 day.
Good idea, needs some work
win xp, FF 3.0.17
