Has some great features, and generally works well. But theres a couple of what I consider major problems that have forced me to turn elsewhere.
1. The apply button doesn't appear to actually do anything as I discovered when I encountered major problem 2 after adding a dozen or so feeds.
2. Any page that includes any 'frame-breaker' code can-not be added as the preview that is loaded forces its way out of the settings window leaving you no option but to close it.
(try adding http://www.formula1.com/rss/news/latest.rss). You can't and anything you've added previous even after clicking apply is lost, unless you happen to click OK at some point between adding feeds.

I appreciate developers making all these great addons, I do, but why post them if they suck? I haven't found a single RSS addon that works well yet. (my requirements are, it has to have alerts, not take up lots of screen real estate, and actually WORK).
infoRSS has horrible set up, the interface is terrible, and on top of that- it just doesn't work. I am subscribed to about 25 feeds, and about every 50 updates in all of those feeds, it gets only 20. if anyone has any better software, please tell me...

One of the most useful extensions that I have found! But it severely needs updating to the newer FireFox versions, particularly ver. 3.0.1., for continued use! Especially, for those of us, who regularly update. I would give it a 5 star rating, if it were maintained!

If, like me, you REALLY love infoRSS, try installing the extension "Firefox Nightly Testing Tools" (NTT).
One of the features of this extension is that it allows you to mark an extension as compatible with your current version of firefox.
HOWEVER: doing this MAY break firefox. SO BE CAREFUL

I have used this extension for a long time now and it seems a little complicated to set up at first but that's because it can do so much. I updated one of my machine to FF 3.0 and it doesn't work anymore and - wow - I miss it - a lot - please, please update this extension!! I don't see anything else out there that compares to this. It integrated seamlessly in the bottom bar of the browser, I could take away the icons, you can scroll over the feed and read the entry and even see images that are posted. It wasn't distracting when you needed to actually work either. This is a winner as far as I am concerned and I want it back. I didn't upgrade some of my other computers yet so I wouldn't lose this extension. But I want/need to use FF3.0 also . .

I've used this extension for a long time (years). I love the news ticker feature. I've never had any crashes or problems with the add-on. I recommend!

I don't know what these people are talking about. InfoRSS is not buggy AT ALL.
I think a lot of the options and settings are extra.. I know I certainly just tread on a few things myself and the add-on works perfectly for me.
If you want a simple RSS reader that features a wonderful news ticker (to my knowledge the only RSS add-on for firefox that does this!)..... get infoRSS

It's a shame that there are no good RSS readers for such a wonderful program, I'm switching back to the sad deficient bunk that comes built in.

It´s a shame.
a buggy software where you can´t get your feeds for more than 1 reboot.
Inforss forgets all your settings.
I can´t stand it anymore, so long inforss.
Stay away from this software until the devs make a REAL fix on it.

Well..... Where do I start.
This add-on was once very good. But that was way back in 2006.
Now, saying it's buggy is a complement!!
It seems that every new version that fixes x number of problems, and then adds more features, gets worse.
I wish that more developers here and everywhere else would be a bit more quality oriented in their version releases.
For example:
1. Release v1.0
2. Fix problems and release v1.1a
If no NEW problems. THEN
3. Add features, release v1.2
4. REPEAT 2-3
I know it's not that easy, but it should be something to work toward.
People WILL USE IT w/ fewer functions and no problems.
The inverse WILL HAPPEN w/ "'bells & whistles" and aggravating bugs.
If it was a favorite car of mine, I'd do a frame up restoration.

It\'s buggy, it forgets his feeds. I read circa 10 reads a day min, and i get bored, to reconfigure this piece of shit every time, that he forgets his feeds. i am using this program for a year, but now i think, the new version is worse than the old, something got wrong in the development

Not a good first experience with RSS (Win98SE, Fx 2.0.0.8, PII-266). Complicated, quirky, confusing. Things jump around and disappear, mouse interaction sometimes goes bonkers. Lack of manual control, too automatic. Not usable on dialup -- will consume the bandwidth, doing who knows what. This tool was the only way to get a podcast of mp3! But the final solution was to just view the xml source of the RSS, find the mp3 location, and use Opera download manager to get that one giant file. Maybe someone could use the infoRSS source to make a simpler, all-manual tool that lets you select all downloads from easy menus, would never use bandwidth except by user choice/command?
Does not seem "lightweight" -- slow to respond on a low-end computer.

If you upgrade to the latest version of Firefox, be sure to back up your feedlist and settings. They get erased.

This is a very powerful RSS reader. It's the only one I've found with properly working feed scroller, and it provides many options for display of the feeds. It does seem to increase Firefox resource usage a bit more than is desirable, but other than that it is an excellent addon.

I have tried this add-on for the 4th or so time and it just isn't working for me. Still on the look out for something that I like. I have all of this space at the bottom and want to put the inforss there but it just won't let me
