Ну и что толку от этого аддона, если вебмастер не поставил ID? Почему нет автоматической (да и вообще никакой) возможности выбирать элемент по XML-пути?
Насколько я понял адресация и хайдинг происходит с помощью CSS, который убог и вообще не подходит для данной цели.
Гораздо эффективнее использовать javascript, как для адресации (см. либо prototype и её функцию $$()), вырезая обычным remove.

I loved Opera's blocking feature. This blows away Opera. It works very well. What is so great about it is that you can remove actual web content and not just images and flash like Opera and the standard Adblock Plus. This is a must have plugin. It is excilent at blocking text ads. This will make myspace look clean!

Great add-on, but not well tested under FF3. ctl-shift-h is now used to pull up history; you need to pick a new key mapping.

There was always a flaw in AdBlockPlus. those damned ads that seem to evade the add ons ability to block them because you would hover over the ad and not get any option to filter it..or even trying to check the properties of an ad so you can add a url filter to addblockplus and still getting nowhere!!!
This addresses the problem and then some!
no longer do you have to care about the URL of where the ad is on a page that adblock will not get for you. You just right click over the annoying page element, be it a dynamically created scripted ad or some banner that evades you because it is produced by well obfuscated scripting like on a few Russian site I know, problems are over! Just right click and select to filter the irritating ad. this add on does it for you from then on.

flash is still a big issue to adblock or this helper... eg. http://www.freewareppc.com/
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2).That's just how it is - plugins like Flash aren't like all the other elements of the web page. In particular, the browser doesn't get notified when the mouse moves over a plugin, meaning that the selection in Element Hiding Helper won't change either.
Not that I see any good reason to use Element Hiding Helper on Flash - you want to block Flash, not hide it. So open blockable items list and look for objects (see Adblock Plus FAQ for details).

This is my new favorite add on! The others for blocking flash and ads are great, but there is always something annoying that gets left on the web page. With element hiding helper you just select the tool and it automatically starts encasing the different sections of a web page in a nice red box. The red box will shift to different elements so you can choose the specific one you want. Once selected you just click the annoying object you don't want to see on the web page and it gives you a preview of what it will look like (Make sure to click the preview box) and just click "OK" and the annoying element will be gone forever! If you make a mistake just click the ABP red stop sign icon and go to preferences/element hiding rules/and delete the very last element in blue at the bottom of the list/then refresh the web page. All is back to normal and it only takes a few seconds! I only wish I would have installed this add on sooner!

I installed this add-on today, and it didn't take long for me to realize that this is what I've been looking for!
Adblock Plus is great for blocking stuff from known ad sites, but it is quite useless for integrated content. Well, with this add-on you will be able to block most annoying page sections. I find many sites I regularly visit are cluttered and slow-rendering with too much irrelevant stuff. Now I can easily block that, without using custom Greasemonkey scripts or whatever. Pages render quicker and you get the content you want.
Just one wish, often you block too much content. Then you REALLY need an UNDO block function, because it's a hassle to go through all blocks, trying to locate and delete the bad block! Should be relatively easy to fix.

But please please include undo lasta action. I keep blocking ads which some cases hides the whole body of the page. And its very frustrating to find the right one from the list to delete..

Wish something like this could of come around long ago with AdB+. Works great for removing those pesty things on websites, like myspace's 'cool new people' or ebay's 'suggestive ads'. All the text ads AdB+ is unable to reject.

This is a great tool to get rid of all the flashy ads that irks you. I keep updating it from the websites and the great feature is the export/importing of filters with append feature.
It would be really nice if we could share the filters with each other so that it will minimize the efforts of all.

Thanks, this is one of my favorite Add-Ons. As I mentioned in the Discussions section, I have had the "select element to hide" option disappear sometimes from the ABP menu in the toolbar button, but after I decided to use the ABP menu from the statusbar instead the option never disappears.

Great add-on to Adblock Plus. This allows you to hide certain text elements on pages, whether they'd be text ads or somebody's moron post on a forum you go to. But I caution you all. If you're careless with this add-on, you may block more than what you like with this. I once tried to block an advertising table cell with this and it blocked most of the table cells on the page instead.

I like it. It adds all the functionality I could ask for in adblock+ that wasn't there before. A few things that always bugged me before were avatars/sigs in various forums, and this extension seems to take care of them just fine.
