Ne fonctionne pas, menu introuvable sur version de Thunderbird à jour
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Using Thunderbird in Ubuntu, the 'Manually sort folders' app only appears in the Tools menu if 'Tools' is reached from the menu bar. So, under 'Preferences', click 'Menu bar', and 'Tools' will show up in the top bar. Clicking Tools in the Menu bar shows 'Manually sort folders'. It does not appear in the Tools menu if clicked from the dropped down 'three bars'. The app works fine for me, now that I have found it.

Just putting a number in front of the foldernames puts them in any order you want without this disaster.
Dev could have saved me wasting my time and wouldn't have got this review if he had warned that
1. if a folder is renamed it is moved to the end of the list AND all its subfolders' manual re-ordering is lost.
2. It has stuck local folder inbox sent items archives in some apparently random position in the middle of my 700+ folder list.
Instead-NO WARNING, no instructions until you actually waste your time and wreck your folder order trying it - how am I going to move 700+ folders in a wee box clicking pictures of arrows?
Have you heard of drag and drop?
BTW that is in TB52, with POP3. No excuses.

It seems like this add-on actually searches for the "Tools" menu label. In other languages the label is of course different, e.g. "Extras" in German. This means that it does not work unless the Thunderbird language is set to English!

Was using this extension for a long time, to get RSS account on top of the folder list. Upgrade of Thunderbird to 68.7.0 or upgrade of the addon itself resulted in RSS folders at the bottom and no way to bring them back up.
It seems this is caused by changes at the TB side, so it is not really correct to blame the addon. In any case it is disappointing that TB developers decided not to implement a functionality that would be normally included in any reasonable program with a GUI. And now they also break an addon that successfully filled the gap and has a lot of users.

works nice, only slightly annoying part is that you have to restart thunderbird everytime you re-sort accounts, but it works.
do not that it apparently does not appear in the extras submenu of the 3-bar menu but only in the extras part of the header menu, which can be brought up with F10 for quick use if disabled.
after use the menu will disappear again.

I found the problem I was having with the add-on. I was seeing only a popup window with a list of my account names. The add-on wouldn't show or do anything else. No menu, no buttons, just the account list.
You can see what it looks like here: https://i.postimg.cc/VkWqM344/MSF-2.jpg
The reason: it doesn't like my desktop video config. It needs to be fixed for compatibility with HD desktops/displays.
The popup window is permanently stuck above the desktop frame (out of bounds) and there is no way to force it down once opened, IF I run the add-on with Tbird in my normal desktop mode (1920x1080).
I had tried changing desktop resolution before, but I didn't go far enough with my experiments. Turns out, there are two ways to fix this:
1.) Lower desktop vertical resolution to 1024 or below. The top bar, menu/tabs and buttons become visible. Then, drag the window down and the top portion of the window will stay in view when desktop resolution is increased to normal.
2.) This method may not work for everyone, depending on their graphics card/driver. Switch display via driver from 1080p to 1080i while the popup window is stuck out of bounds. That forces the top part of it into view. Changing from 1080i to 1080p with the window stuck out of bounds also works.
Lastly, the window must be maximized in order to scroll to the bottom of a long accounts list and to see the Local folders bar, Restart Thunderbird and Close buttons.
Kind of a pain to have to do this, but beggars can't be choosers.

Works fine for me in 68.7.0 and is a very handy little app indeed.
If you follow paddingtonbear's simple instructions (ignoring any references to hunny, of course) it should even, I hope, have worked for Mozzied.

Отлично работает. Сначала нужно поставить через Инстурменты-Дополнения, перезагрузиться и в Инструменты - Сортировка папок вручную настроить!

Works great! Don't forget to activate the menu bar so you can find it under Tools.
