Very useful, but does not work with TB 3b2

Absolutely necessary addon.
I think it misses 2 important features: -
1) possibility to place it not only under folder's panel but at its right (or left) too. -
2) add in the dropdown menu that allows to select one of the available adress books, the voice "all contacts" that shows all the contacts from all address books.

Thunderbird is an emailing system - it needs addresses, why on earth did they build it without this?!
This is brilliant! One gripe, could it not highlight groups in bold or simliar as Outlook does.

The plugin which converts thunderbird into a corporate application with a central address book.
With this we can replace outlook and exchange with entirely gnu software. Thanks Jeroen

It does exactly what I wanted. I wanted to be able to search fields in the address book other than the default fields (i.e. name or email) afforded.

I like it, but I really wish I didn't have to reopen the sidebar every time I start TB. Why doesn't it stay put between sessions?

Darn! Doesn't work with TB 3.0b1. Needs to be updated, so come on developers, let's get with the program! :)

This addon is really one of the most important for thunderbird. There are two more things I would like to see here: When a contact is selected it should behave as the folder and show all mails of all folders for this contact. The second thing would be the ability to directly call an IM application or the SamePlace addon for a contact.

I like it, and believe it should be a standard feature.
However, one must take care that the selected contact can be deleted with : it happened to me several times to attempt to delete a *message*, and to accidentally delete an selected contact instead!

-> There should be an option to inhibit deletion (or to require confirmation before deletion) from the sidebar.

Very good.
Single missing feature: to place the sidebar somewhere else inside the windows or detach it from the windows as free floating window.
