Perfectly working, with Thunderbird 3.0.5 and Lightning 1.0b1 on Windows XP SP3.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Downloaded both the version for Lightening (for T-bird & Sundbird, but like the Sunbird best.) Great add-on.

Freezes Thunderbird for me. Same thing on Sunbird. Too bad, because that makes Lightning/Sunbird useless to me. There's a bug, but someone marked it invalid. I'd really love to have this functionality, so if it gets fixed that would be awesome!

Great product and I use it every day connected to my business. I'm a Mac guy however I just don't like iCal . Sunbird and Google Calendar are just perfect for me. I've just give Philipp Kewisch $10

Take care

Jonathan

I have been using this for about a month and just when I was ready to rely on it full-time, I started finding tat the calendar is getting reliable updates from the Google calendar.
Sometimes the calendar is blank, other times I see items but get errors when I add, edit or delete entries. the only views that seem to work are for "today" and "this month"
going to a future month does nothing, the calendar doesn't even refresh.

I realize that this is Beta software and I appreciate the effort, but it has a long way to go in terms of reliability. What is the time table for the next beta or RC ?

Thanks!

Great capability!
Just one problem: when opening the calendar off line, it shows an empty calendar!

I love the bi-directional bit of it. The thing I miss is that since integrating Google Calendar in Thunderbird I can't use my tasks anymore. Since the calendar doesn't support tasks. But actually GC does, but the sunc is not built in yet?
or is it. if not it would be on my whish list.

Works great! Thanks for the add-on!

Do you know when the Tasks in Google will be accessible with this add-on?

Thanks again!

I love the app so far. I had issues with the reminders with the google version of sync for Sunbird. Thanks, Philipp.

The reason I'm writing this tho', is to clarify the "Accessing your calendar" instructions for newbies like me. I had no idea what Philipp was trying to convey until I went to google's site (http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=37648) and read their instructions.

In order to obtain your calendar's "private address" follow step number one as Philipp advises, but then...

As suggested by google:

1. In the calendar list on the left, click on the down-arrow button next to the appropriate calendar, then select Calendar settings.
2. Select the XML or HTML button on the calendar's settings page. A pop-up window with your calendar's private URL will appear.
3. Use this URL to access your calendar data.

Personally, this was a lot easier to comprehend than Philipp's directions. But like I said, I'm a newb! Thanks again Philip.

It took me a little, but this is very cool and once setup very stable. Good job!
It's a combination of this add on
Enable a public share of your calendar.
Copy the URL of your calendar.
Follow the directions at Google Help for "Get Started with CalDAV"

You can even export your default "Home" Calendar and import it into Google.

Once you play around with the public vs private viewing it's all set. So now you can use Gcal as the host and Mac/iPhone/blackberry/PC whatever as reader clients.

Les notifications ne sont que des alertes.
Si vous voulez avoir les alertes correspondant à votre configuration sur "Google Agenda" (sms, mail, ...), modifiez le fichier "calGoogleUtils.js".

Recherchez la ligne :
entry.gd::when.gd::reminder += gdReminder; // ligne 405 pour la version 0.6b1

Ajouter la ligne suivante juste avant :
gdReminder.@method = "all";

Et voilà !

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't understand the need for this add on. Sunbird and lightning already have this ability. If you don't know how to do it just go to your Google calendar and click on "Sync" in the upper right hand corner of the screen and follow the instructions.

I've been syncing multiple calendars with Google for some time now with no problems using Google's sync instructions.

If this add on does something more, then please indicate that in the description.

I'm using thunderbird to retrieve emails in my workplace. The meeting invitation sent to my work email doesn't appear in my GCal automatically. I must drag the invitation to lightning to make it sync to GCal so that I can receive alerts on my android phone. My understanding is that I duplicated the invitation to my GCal by the "dragging". It will be helpful if there's some way to route the work invitations to my GCal.
Anyway, I love it.

Incompatible with Sunbird!

A very useful add-on. Used it with TB 2, I'm downloading it for TB3.

Does this version support offline access to your GCalendar?

If the download link doesn't work for you ("Add-on not found"), try the Sunbird page:

Mark L: "This extension allows Sunbird and Lightning to read and write events to a Google Calendar."
Somehow, I feel, that this implies that either Sunbird or Lightning is required.

Also, I got this to work by following the instructions on the listed homepage. I first tried to your instructions on Google's page, but this resulted to infinite update loop when adding items to calendar (bug perhaps somewhere).

Worked quite well so far (although my testing has been a bit limited)

It would seem it is possible to sync Google Calendar with Thunderbird. You WILL require the Lightning Add-On. It sure would have been nice if someone published the answer instead of the vague "I know but you don't" reply...
So here it is:

http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358#sunbird

Substitute Thunderbird for Sunbird, and the directions work fine.

PS. Save your $10 Provider support fee for a beer.
