I enjoy what this add-on can provide however there is enough "wrong" with it to write a review. I have two installs of Thunderbird, One I have kept up to date and is running the latest version of the software with the latest add-ons. The other is quite old around version 30.

The provider on my old version works how I would expect, I open Thunderbird/Lightning and I can interact with my calendar.

This provider version 4.4.x appears to REQUIRE that I login to Google EVERYTIME prompting a notification from google due to their security alerts. Of course once I have logged in everything works fine, no complaints about burning CPUs or the typical (Oh my TB/Lightning updated now the add-on stopped working)

Legit:I am reasonable, there could be a problem with my particular install, maybe there is some permission that needs to be changed, I really don’t know however, with this review I am demanding that persistent login be enabled to make this Add-on is aces, otherwise it is just cheap nagware with no option to stop the nagging.

Was würde ich ohne dieses Add-on machen?
Wenn man Tasks und Termine verlässlich mit Google syncen will einfach unentbehrlich, vielen Dank für die Arbeit ! - Top !

Works very well. A life saver - I now can sync Tasks across various devices without being locked into a platform.

Nice tool! Thank you! This makes Thunderbird usable.

Think about: Just one of your Google calendars can be used for invitations. You have to figure out which one this is.

can't sync Tasks correctly if there was any changes on different (2nd, 3rd) device, especially if they made at native GCal. Also can stuck with Events sync at the same conditions, but rarely

Thunderbird 60.5.0, Lightning 6.2.5, Provider 4.4.2.

**STILL** cannot dismiss meeting/calendar events and alarms. Tried to dismiss a single item, or ALL past ones. Nothing works, and my only option is to completely disable Lightning and Provider, otherwise there will permanently be a non-closable window showing passed events for the past two months or more. I am stuck using a Google Chrome window for my company calendar (Chrome, yech).

After installing add-on my thunderbird didn't start again and I had to cancel the process.

Second try worked but couldn't find any button or hint how the add-on works. Did a test with new calendar entry but couldn't find the entry in Google Calendar.

For now the add-on doesn't do what it promises.

I think, if you want to destroy TB, this is the way to go. I am convinced the addon destroys TB....I get Not Responding all the time. The calendar always defaults to November 2018 even though it is now Feb 2019. Plus, I deleted one of my Google profiles and every time I restart TB it tells me to login to the deleted account?

I like this add-on, it works and I've never had any problem with it, EXCEPT there is never any Release Notes available when an update is released. Quite honestly, the lack of Notes makes me suspicious, it can't be that much work to describe what has changed, and it's the only add-on I have in both FF and TB that never has never has any Notes.

In this day and age, anybody who simply updates software without checking what has changed, especially what implications they have for security (including 'phoning home' is asking for trouble.

I haven't updated this add-on for a while because of the lack of Release Notes and I haven't noticed any impaired function.

Come-on developer, I'm quite sure you don't have anything to hide, so why not do Release Notes so we can be sure?

Currently not working properly on latest Thunderbird (60.4.0).
Found out how to configure google calender to sync my diary.
Unfortunately I'm not able to see any meetings in thunderbird.
Although I'm able to create some and they are successfully synced to Google Calendar.

On our systems this addon works very well and reliably (Thunderbird 60.3.3). We are using it for some months now as a professional calendar management for appointments, events, projects, absence management and more.
Many thanks for this very useful addon!

Installation was bit tricky on Xubuntu 18.04.1, needed to install xul-ext-lightning from apt, then add this add-on trough Thunderbird Add-ons manager.

But it works with my Gsuite account and with 2FA enabled without any app passwords. Even USB U2F key worked during logon. So nice!

Abgesehen davon, dass man manuell installieren muss (Add-On aus einer Datei installieren), hat das Add-on bisher wunderbar funktioniert - alle Kalendereinträge wurden zwischen Google und Thunderbird in beide Richtungen problemlos synchronisiert.

The Addon does not work with Thunderbird 60.3.2 (32 bit)! The Addon "GData-Provider.en-US.xpi" does not work as well.
Who can help me?
Thanks, Klaus
