Read the thread to the forum linked on this page.
1. Windows versions have hide menubar built in. Linux etc versions do not.
2. The Dev knows and if you read the thread to the forum linked on this page, he's still working on it.
3. Firefox 3.6 also introduced new bugs with this addon that he needs to sort out.
If you want to try the 3.6 version you can on the forum. But there's a good reason it isn't updated here yet - It's not stable, bug free yet.

I installed the 3.6 version and it still doesn't hide the menu bar.
It shows as enabled in extensions, however, the menu bar is still visible. I right clicked it, but the options dropdown was grayed out.
I love this extension, I hope the 3.6 bugs are ironed out soon

with fx 3.6 hide menubar yes we can change with default fx. but linux version i couldnt see.. is it a bug for linux version ? or feature..

I loved this add on and have just installed fx 3.6. now I cannot use it!!! if its already built in please let me know how to do it. if not when will it become available

Excellent idea as when the menu bar disappears it makes a lot of difference in space! Only discovered this by sheer chance and so glad I did! So easy and convenient to press the Alt key to make menu appear - then disappear automatically, brill!

I dont care that Firefox 3.6 'supposedly' has this already built in. The Linux version does NOT. Someone needs to update this. Contrary to popular belief, Linux users make up quite a large share of Firefox users.

Так в 3.6 она и не нужна. Нажмите на любой панельке правой кнопкой, там снимите галочку с Панель Меню, она исчезнет. Теперь альтом можно её вызывать и скрывать без плагина.

EVERYBODY WHOS INSTALL THIS ADDS-ON PLEASE NOTICE THE AUTHOR WILL NOT UPGRADE ANY MORE!
firefox 3.6, as author said, can hide your menu bar. Just right click around menu bar ,toggle off the menu bar.
To reveal menu bar, please install the author's latest adds-on "Auto menubar". IT will automatically show the menubar when your mouse moves to the title of the firefox window.

Your Add-on is just great!
3.6 hide menubar option is bugy and don't provide Alt-key option. Please, upgrade your add-on!

Hi,
unfortunately the "hide menu bar" functionality of Firefox 3.6 is only available on Windows Systems. I had to override the compatibility of this Add-On with the Nightly Tester Tools to get it running. But after that it worked like a charm again :)
