SFTP does not work under SuSE (11.1), I only get a message that I have to install putty with an explanation for Ubuntu - absolutely useless! I downloaded and installed putty 0.60 - no change. Instead of an OS specific installation guide I would like to know which binaries/libraries I have to install in which directory.
Why does SFTP work on Windows without putty and does not on Linux with putty???

Very Nice, but could be nicer if I could use the Putty official/another distribution instead of the once modified by you, since there are another builds (nightly or custom builds for Multi-Core CPUs) that handles better on multi-core cpus or better resources handling...
oh'.. never mind.. :_]

I use it all of the time for three websites. Just excellent. Thank you very much. Used Ipswitch and other FTP programs, but not now.

Please fix FireFTP so that if I open an FTP link in FireFTP the Remote Directory field doesn't default to /
Some FTP servers are already configured that way and when I try to open the link via FTP the remote directory section is blank.
I have to go in and disconnect, edit the temporary account and remove the / from the Remote field and then save and reconnect which is very annoying.

The version downloadable here will not work in ff 3.5.5. Download the LITE version here: http://fireftp.mozdev.org/developers.html , it will work with v. 3.5.5.
Otherwise a great extension, I've been using it for 2 years.

I've had problems with even some of the best FTP clients connecting and dying on some servers I work with. Not so with FireFTP. It works perfectly and couldn't be easier! Thanks so much.

The FTP 1.0.7.Version does not work with Firefox 3.5.5..
When you uninstall the FTP 1.0.7 V and than install the FTP 1.0.6.V it will not work.
The Best thing is it, when you NEVER install the FTP 1.0.7 Version.

Works great! very usefull Add-on (It works with Version 3.5.5)
To the other's who gave 1 Star:
You need to have a FTP Server (maybe bplaced)
Now you can use FireFTP and login with the Login-Data from bplaced (or any other...) and now you can use FireFTP perfectly.

Unusable for me. I'm on OS X (Snow Leopard) and I can't open any directories on my hard drive. I just get the following error:
You do not have the appropriate permissions or directory does not exist.
Googling find people complaining from that error back in 2007, but no actual solution.

Fast, simple and reliable. This Add-On has all but replaced FileZilla in my work. Fantastic.
