The add-on doesn't remember its settings. I need to remake the settings every time I start Thunderbird, and the disappear again when I close it, or shut down the PC. I am running Windows 7 and Thunderbird 2. Can anybody help pls?

Been using this for quite a while and it works perfectly, I pretty much have Thunderbird running all the time now.

[To sidhex3] :
0) Stop Thunderbird
1) Find the file install.rdf in a folder looking like this : c:\Documents and Settings\xxx\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\06ujl3xc.default\extensions\{31513E58-F253-47ad-86DB-D5F21E905429}
If you have many extensions, you have to find de good folder !
2) Edit the install.rdf file
3) Find the line 2.0a
in the block.
4) Replace 2.0a (or other depending) by 2.0.*
5) restart Thunderbird
6) Enjoy MinimizeToTray again !

Good work

Agree, this great add-on should be added as default feature! The "right-click menu" is great too.

The only thing I miss is a changing icon, if you received new mails. Just to get noticed by the tray-icon itself.

Let me know if you're going to add it and need some graphical support!

Works flawlessly for me. A request: minimize to tray on start up. Please? Thank you for the add-on.

My only gripe about it is that unlike Outlook, you can't simply press the minimize button to minimize to the tray. In fact when it comes to email clients I think minimizing to the taskbar is quite useless, they should all be designed to minimize to the tray by default, like Outlook. It's quite a simple concept, I don't know why Mozilla hasn't just put a simple button in their Options menu for this. But this is better than nothing, thanks.

The only addon I install for thunderbird. Excelent, lets me keep the email program running without it taking up space on the taskbar. 5 stars

very wonderfull plugin.

It also works fine with TB 3.0b3 but you need to change the compatiblity line in the xpi.

for that rename the .xpi to .zip then extract the "install.rdf" open it with an texteditor and change the line: "2.0a1" in the Thunderbird section to the version number you've installt. Then overwrite the original "install.rdf" in the zip file with the modified one. Finaly rename the .zip back to .xpi and install the plugin.

Just 4 stars caused by the "incompatiblity"

It works great, but just after I hit "Find Updates" button in Add-ons dialog in TB 2.0.0.22 installation. I will see that "A compatibility update" has been applied to MinimizetoTray 0.0.1.2006102615+.

It will then remain stable until after next IPL.

The right click doesn't work with FF 3.5 :(
I am forced to always end the process to close firefox now !!!

ohhh. stopped working with thunderbird version 2.0.0.22 (20090605) today! agree with previous comment -- this add-on should be build in the original version of the program. so useful! *sigh*

Should be built-in with Thunderbird. My e-mail application runs the whole day and should not take up space on my taskbar.
But everytime I update other plugins, this one gets disabled automatically and Thunderbird says that "a compatibility update was installed" and re-enables MinimizeToTray after a second restart. The version number does not increase - it's possibly a problem with my Thunderbird installation.
