If you use Google calendar and Thunderbird, this add-on is simply essential. Well done!

Pleeeease make the Google Tasks integration your top priority for the next release of this marvelous extension! And yes, I'm willing to donate at least 10$ the day you got it up & running... :)

I tried searching through bugzilla, but that is a horrible mess. This needs google task syncing ASAP.

Re Suggestion by Carlos below.
dl Business Calendar Free from the Android Market. This will enable you to sync your Google calendars to your smart phone. Then with 'Provider for GC' you can add appointments and reminders on your phone which will appear on your Lightning calendar and visa versa. With this android app I can also push a calendar to my wife's phone (from Google) so she can see what my work schedule is doing.
Provider for Google Cal is a fantastic add-on. I'm just a little peeved its not available for TB 5.0 +

I really didn't appreciate how much difference this makes until I tried to set up Lightning on SeaMonkey to access Google Calendar and had to use CALDAV. Hoping that it might one day be compatible with SeaMonkey please!

I am using this only for a few days, but I think that is very useful.
I have 2 sugestions :
1 - Is possible to have a syncr with a Smartphone or blackberry , with Gmail ???
2 - Is possible to have an option to send a mail O sms with the alarm of the event ? (like Calendar in Google accounts)
Thanks

Hi,
When i try to delete an occurence on events which repeat weekly then the agenda becomes READ_ONLY and I cannot synchronize the google agenda.
I delete the specific occurence via the webbrowser in the google calendar. Then i try to synchronize the agenda in thunderbird but it does not work. The occurence still remain in lightning.
I seems that lightning does not actualize its cache ???
best regards

I have used this add-on for months and was very happy with it. Suddenly it stopped working and when I checked my add-ons, Thunderbird was saying 7.0.1. was not compatible with the add-on. While googling for a solution I found we can add a Google calendar to Thunderbird as a CalDAV (File>New>Calendar, On the network, ...). I tried and it works in both directions just fine.
I am using 7.0.1 on Ubuntu 11.10

I love this add on and have used it for a couple of years. It is invaluable. I noticed that a few people have noted a problem I just had, not being able to add/modify an entry nor respond to alerts. Somehow, my calendar was locked and changed to read only. Once I unchecked read only, everything worked just fine. I hope this helps some people. Thank you for a wonderful add on.

Thank you very much for that valuable tool, good work! It helped me to get rid of MS Outlook. I would love to see the Google Task integration soon and offer money and my development help if that could speed up things...

"Must have" addon.
Interesting fact: I have created new profile and sync didn't work till I set up a timezone in Lightning (Ububntu 11.10).
It will be usefull if addon will give some message about this.

Love the product. I do see that it has to reconnect from time to time and so my calendar disappears briefly. That's more of a visual distraction than anything.
Let's get syncing to Google Tasks working now!!!

Other then an issue where the reminders can't be dismissed, this is a wonderful plugin. Love it!

I love the product just wish that when I came back after a wakeup that I didn't have to quit thunderbird and restart it to get reconnected to my google calendars. I haven't given up yet, but it is getting quite annoying to have to do this 5 times a day. I have reported this issue before on other versions and still no fixy.
Thunderbird: 7.0.1
Lightning: 1.0b7

Works but asks for Google Username and Password. Should really use Oauth
