Unfortunately, with version 1.0.1 things seem to have crashed. Very rarely does any sincroniozação. Masd is far from what was previously a shame. I hope that improves.

Update ---
As mentioned, I deleted the calendar, deleted the passwords, removed and reinstalled the extension. It is working now and has since I preformed the fix.
I am sure that someone is busy trying to fix this but the handshake / sync of google calendars is broken. It worked but then it stopped working. Is it the new googleapi address instead of the https?
On ly Linux box I rolled back to an older version of Provider, a version that uses the HTTPS address and so far it is working.
Installing a new google calendar doesn't work. If you try it, you will reach a screen that stays blank, as though it is waiting for something or someone.
I've had to install a firefox work around.
Rolled back to older versions on Linux and Windows and now --- so far --- everything is working.

Version 0.32 worked simply excellent. The update to 1.0.1 came unfortunately automatically. Suddenly a query for account username and password popped up, behaviour like a virus. A short intro would have been highly recommended. And then..... the calendar was spoiled and didn't work at all. (platform Win7 as well as Win8). Back to 0.32 and things were all right again. Version 1.0.1 can not be recommended. A serious fix has to be carried out. It should be taken off the current list or marked as alpha trial.

Great ad-don, but having trouble with those last changes. I tried out all CalDAV solutions suggested below but had success only with 1 account, and it fails sometimes... 5 stars because it's a need ad-don, that till now always worked fine for me! Hope for new updates fixing this.

Sorry guys but I think that the CalDav solution has nothing to do with this wonderful addon. You have it anyway even without the addon so it is not the solution to the new problem. What Phillipp's sw adds to the standard feature is for instance the possibility to choose the text message by phone to your reminder. With CalDav you don't have it. Thus still 5 stars for me but please release an updated version in order to have it back. Thanks

Yesterday I wrote that at a certain point the add-on started working again :-)
...well it wasn't so :-(
It simply worked in a precise moment (a couple of minutes). During this time I had the opportunity to see the list of calendars in the dialog box for selecting them ...and I have also understood the reason why Philipp decided to release a new version: to give us all the ability to select the calendars we want to sync directly within Lightning (without having the pain to go back & forth from GoogleCalendar, cutting and pasting URLs) when Philipp will fix the current bug it will surely be a 5 stars addon.
Philipp I love this add-on and I truly appreciate your work (I just made a small donation worth a couple of coffee) I hope you can manage to fix it soon.

I had problems with syncing my Google calendar in tbird with lightning and provider for google cal recently. However, re-installing the calendar following the instructions in this link: https://developers.google.com/google-apps/calendar/caldav/v2/guide#connecting_to_googles_caldav_server (go down to the bit "Connecting to Google's CalDAV server") worked for me, including two way sync.
Using Tbird 31.1.2; lightning 3.3.1 and provider 1.0.1.

At first: The automatic update-routine made problems, because I had six single google-ics-urls as network calendars. After the update, the urls where concurring each other. I deleted all calendars and used the new way over "Google Calendar". Worked at once but now, i can't access any of my calendars anymore.
I've installed the old 0.32 again and imported the private ics-urls for my calendars as i had before the update. Works to view the events, but editing is no longer possible. Thats a huge disappointment and a desaster for the most users. I hope on a soon patch.
At the moment, not functional anymore.

It works fine since last update, but I don't know if this issue is due to this add-on : I met some troubles since the last update of thunderbird (31.2.0) lightning and Google Provider (1.0.1). It shows calendars, but I can't write on it (Modification failed). I try to delete and to add calendars, but nothing change.
