Unfortunately, does not seem to work on Thunderbird 78.8 under Fedora Linux 32. Edit: I put the version before: 78.8. This is the only thing I see in the console and it's a warning: "Layout was forced before the page was fully loaded. If stylesheets are not yet loaded this may cause a flash of unstyled content."
When I toggle the extension I get an error: "uncaught exception: Object"
Hello,
Could you check what Thunderbird version are you using? Some of the older versions had issues. More info here:
https://github.com/fastaddons/Darko/issues/12
Also, does your other addons work?
Regarding my Darko - the code is very simple so there is not much room for errors. So if it doesn't work, it's most probably related to some issue in Thunderbird. You can also open Error console (Ctrl + Shift + J) and then press the Darko icon few times to see if there are some new errors being logged in. If yes, please send it to my support email and I will report it to Thunderbird team.
Thanks!.

This extension is just awesome and FINALLY makes thunderbird dark mode how I want it to be. Great effort, many thanks for creating this!

Nice Add-On!! For my private TB it works just perfect, but it seems to me, that it does not work in combination with "Thunderbird Conversations", which is (at least on my work-computer) the most essential Add-On.
If there is a workaround or future Update, which allows to use both TB Conversations and Darko in parallel, it would be great!!
Hello,
Regarding the "Conversations" - it should work just fine, but only in the native one in the Thunderbird.
I know there is some addon that shows conversations in a better way and I know it doesn't work there. But there is no fix for that - addons in general cannot run inside another addon (to prevent compatibility issues).
The only way to make a dark mode there is to ask the author of that addon to build one.
I'm sorry for the bad news...

Great add-on! Works absolutely amazing with the Thunderbird dark theme and prevents burning my retinas when opening emails. Your add-on seems like a simplified version of Dark Reader, isn't it?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).Thanks!
Yes, something like that. The "Dark Reader" is much more sophisticated (but also CPU hungry). The color inversion is actually quite complex thing.
I'm using only basic techniques here. When I have more time, I plan to upgrade it so that it works better with "already dark" and "partially dark" emails. But it won't be easy... this is not exactly my area of expertise.
Still, I'm surprised how well it works considering how fast I've build it :). It makes me happy every time I open email in the evening :)

This is how the dark theme should work.

Amazing addon. Wish it had support for RSS webpages
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).Good point. I will look into it. I've created issue for it here:

Thank you for pointing it out!
Have a nice weekend :)

Amazing, does a perfect job of changing the email appearance while still allowing me to use any theme I want. One suggestion I have is matching the dark background color with the dark grey used in the thunderbird dark theme.
Edit: Ah, I see. I think the text email backgrounds match the color very well but emails with a built in white background get totally inverted to black I think if that makes sense.
Hello,
I can add new option to change background color. Currently it matches the background color used by Thunderbird in the Compose window (when using default dark theme).
Note that custom background color will work only on emails without background color because that is being inverted by the filter and I can't change it (without breaking the rest of the colors).
I will look at it during the weekend, it should be then part of the 2.1 version.
Here the issue for tracking:
