AutoCopy is a great Add-on. You will definitely get used to having it and expect all other applications to have AutoCopy. Try combining AceText with AutoCopy for creative applications.

This is a handy tool. I cannot live without it anymore. Have been using it for 2 years now. You kinda wish everything in whatever environment has an autocopy function

One of the best extensions out there. This is now part of my standard "can't browse without" package that I install whenever I create a new profile. The combination of copying by selecting text and pasting the clipboard via the middle mouse button is as brilliant as it is simple. Thanks to Mr. Lidman and Mr. Ochtman for making a fantastic script. This really should be implemented as an option in Firefox.
@Lee Dailey: If you find this script is working "exquisitely well" on FF an TB even when it's not supported on the latter, how on Earth does that experience constitute a 4/5 star rating?

I had an earlier version of autocopy, and loved it! I am still waiting for a version that is compatible with recent updates of Thunderbird. I thought that 0.8 would do the trick, but it still won't install in T-bird.

Love this time saver! After using it, when I am forced to use The Other Big Browser and not having AutoCopy on it, I get SO frustrated. This is my most favorite add-on for any program that I use.

Version 0.8 (April 28, 2008 — 64 KB) does not work. You need to use CTRL-C to copy. Double clicking does not copy text

howdy folks,
works exquisitely well! [*grin*] i'm _also_ running version 0.6.4 for tbird and it's just spiffy there, too. hopefully "support for Thunderbird may be added back in later on" refers to a short "later".
take care,
lee

Its so simple yet so powerful. I mean just think about the idea - Why would anyone select a piece of text/HTML? Obviously to C-O-P-Y and P-A-S-T-E it somewhere else.
This is a real productivity booster. Will also increase the life of my thin fingers since the Ctrl+C keystroke is eliminated.
Mr. Developer,
Thanks a lot for this one. And thanks for releasing a FF3b5 compatible version as well. I had to use Nightly Tester Tools to use the earlier version of AutoCopy.

Excellent add-on, but the auto-update for version 0.8 uninstalls the previous version without installing the new one :(

This is an excellent add-on, but there are a trouble with the installation in this version, 0.8. The add-on appears at the same time as installed and 'installing' status, and at Firefox restart the add-on is vanished.

I love this behavior for more than 15 years now, thank you to bringing it into ff[3b5 now too! *yay, thanks!*] on windows too, I was missing it there many times.
I just don't understand why this is not default (or at least option in some) in every OS, it feels so natural to me.

Strange things happen when the version 0.8 issued. I noticed in two different computers that after installing the version 0.8 and restarting a Firefox there are no already Auto Copy. I needed to install its again :( In second computer i noticed after auto upgrade addon window that there to lines: first line "Auto Copy" 0.6.4 installing .... And second line: "Auto Copy 0.8" installed need restart. I think the version 0.8 has incorrect upgrade setting in XPI file ...

So simple and, five months later, I can't imagine browsing without it. The time savings might not be enormous, but it works its charm largely be increasing motivation to do things with the net you'd otherwise do if it didn't take five clicks and setting down your donut to press Control C.

I like it enough that I refuse to update TB beyond V1.5.0.14. I might add that I really get a lot of chaff from the forum guys because I don't update TB. :-(
