Kind of work. Tough not perfectly. If you open FF and get the password window´, all you have to do to bypass it is just dont mind the password promt and double click on the FF icon again: and you are inside FF and can now surf without ever having to enter the password. Hope this bug gets fixed.

This is really nice one.. but you can't expect an ultimate security through this one... if those who may check ur mails are not fools....
try this
Cancel the password request 3 or 4 times...
you can see it will simply open your inbox ....

Perfeito..., funciona realmente, ideal para quem quer o thunderbird só abra mediante senha, só tem que alterar uma opção como diz o autor para que se clicar em "cancel" ele não abra o programa.

I just found this add-on while searching for hints on how to solve this problem for SeaMonkey 2.0. I was surprised to see that it does exactly what I wanted to have, and already works in SeaMonkey 2.0pre (including the options!) if only you disable the compatibility check. Can you bump the supported SeaMonkey version to 2.0.* please? :-)

worked perfectly for me....

The add-on claims compatibility with TB3.0b4pre, but it's not. By bumping the maxVersion to TB3.0b4 it will install all right. However, all it does is to add another Master Password prompt. It does not fix the multiple password prompt problem in TB for me.

There two important problems:
-Opening of firefox is delayed too much after installing the addon.
-Asks the password each time even the option for it is disabled...and keeps on asking after uninstallation.

Mistake.....
if it uses its own password instead of the master passwork

Great,
But I'd like it more if it doesn't use its own password instead of the master passwork

Great Extension, Probably Doesn't Do What You Think It Does.

This extension is not meant to lock down Firefox with a password. It is a workaround for a Firefox bug.

If you use Firefox's built-in Password Manager, you probably set a master password to protect your stored logins. But restoring a tab session can trigger a bunch of requests to unlock the password manager. This extension lets you unlock the password manager early so that you only get asked once. It's very handy for this purpose.

¡¡Cuidado!! cuando al principio te requiere introducir la contraseña si pinchas sobre la X para cerrar la ventanita, automaticamente se inicia el firefox sin necesidad de introducir contraseña

I really like this add-on. Keeps everyone in my house out of my Firefox profile. I only wish that it worked better with the Session Manager add-on. The Session Manager's Restore Session window does pop-up before the password prompt. Hence people can see my open windows and sessions before they validate with the password.

Rosherosh, It's not a bug.
you probably didn't activate the option to shut down firefox if the password is wrong/not entered.

If you did, look at the help, he says that addon is mainly to eliminate the duplicate prompts. the security is an addon so easily avoided anyway through firefox`s safe mode.

Thank you for making this, it was just what I was looking for. Now I don't have to lock the computer everytime I step out.

Though like someone said before if you try to open another browser while the password prompt is up it will open just fine.

Just gotta hope they close out the password box before they try opening it again I spose.

Thanks for this gr8 addon. It works gr8 .. i have tested it. But the security has a bug. I have tested it on Firefox v3.5. When it asks for password i didnt enter it and clicked on firefox icon again. To my surprise i found that it opened up firefox. This breaks the rock solid security of this addon. So i request u to please update this security flaws in yr next version.

Works will in Windows 7 / Firefox 3.5! Would love an option for a grace period (a la sudo command), where if the browser is closed or restarted within a minute or two of entering the password, it won't prompt again. Or an option where it won't prompt for restarts due to theme changes, if that can be differentiated.
