Cool extension for Firefox and Thunderbird. But:
- On Linux (Ubuntu & Fedora Gnome 3) I don't see Icon con system tray (Although Thunderbird and Firefox still run)
- On Windows 10, it is not only 1 icon if have more than 1 Windows, please add feature for only 1 icon on system tray, and Exit items for each windows when right click on the icon.
Thank,

Thank you for "reviving" the MinimizeToTray add-on ;-)

The add-on works perfectly for me. It's highly useful and convenient.
I use only two add-ons with Thunderbird, and this is one of them.
I've been using it in the past under Windows and currently under Linux Mint.

A special thanks for the quick latest update to 1.3.2:
Even though not mentioned it the changelog, it also fixed a bug for me:
Clicking the tray icon to restore the application window recently stopped working , but now works again like it did before!

I sugesst a plus new function: one-click Restore Window

That should be possible already, see preferences of the add-on

Just as expected and been using it on both Thunderbird and firefox for years (during its relevant reincarnations for version compatibility)

Thanks a lot for this great little Add-On. TB now is one step further to be the perfect Mail-Application for me! Btw: Is it possible to build an extension to integrate TB into Action-Center in Win10? Or is an add-on already existing out there?

As per the title, everything works in TB 45 except the keyboard shortcut. In fact, clicking "File menu > Minimize to tray" doeesn't work either. It amazes me that Thunderbird doesn't have this functionality built-in yet. If I remember rightly earlier versions used to have it, yes/no? Every other email client has it. It's 2016. It's time.

surprisingly F9 minimize to tray works, however Close/Minimize have no effect.

After installing and setting, it works fine both for iconifying and closing.

I'm on a Windows machine. On versions 38 and below, the utility RBTray (available on SourceForge) worked to minimize Thunderbird to the tray. With the upgrade to version 45 it stopped.

MinimizeToTray works with Thunderbird 45. After you install the Add-on, go to its options. In Minimize to tray, I have 'When minimizing' selected. When I minimize Thunderbird, it properly goes down to the system tray.

Funciona de maravilla y así desocupo espacio en mi barra de tareas y mando a trabajar en segundo plano a Thunderbird a Área de notificación.

Yes it works.. but you have to activate it from options because after installation default options does not change the default behavior of TB.
Add-ons manager (or Tools add-ons) -- > Extensions -- > select options of this extensions and change the behavior you want.
I chose "Instead of closing and minimizing"

I keep a minimized FF on tray at all times, immenediately after windows log in. It makes loading a (second) session/window whnen I need it so much faster! Faster than chrome that is! ;)

Tried on Fx 42 beta, Linux, XCFE 4.12 (Debian).
Closing Firefox doesn't minimize, but closes the program.

Thanks

Does not work for Thunderbird 38.2.0 under Mint, so probably same problem in Ubuntu 14.04

Simple but effective without bothering me with stuff I don't need or want, sometimes no updates for years are a good thing (as long as it stays compatible).

Hallo,
