Great addon until ver 55.5. All address books disappeared. Restored Thunderbird. Installed ver 55.6 with same nasty results. Again, restored Tbird. Last working version is 55.2.

Update: Restarting Tbird did the trick. Thanks for the quick response.

Same here for me: After yesterday's update the Google-Sync is broken. Although in my google-account Cardbook has access to my contacts - Thunderbird says that "the app is blocked". Please fix that, thank you very much!

retry a bit later... for me it works on different PC and different email account....

This is a great indispensable app.
But today, after the update, he was unable to synchronize contacts with Google. Google has blocked access to the address book.
Please fix the add-on. Thank you for your work.

p.s. Thanks for support. Problem resolved. (Set general.useragent.compatMode.firefox to false = the default - I had set it to true before).

This looks really great and I would love to use it. But... How long before changes to Thunderbird cause it to stop working and leave my address book stuck in limbo.

Been burnt more than once by Mozilla before... In my mind extensions/addins are a dead technology.

Excellent address book for Thunderbird. I use it to sync Thunderbird with my Nextcloud server on all my computers. It would be great if this extension replaced the current Thunderbird address book. The support for the CardBook extension by the developer is also very good.

Is not possible to choose "work mobile" and is needed to make some change in the contact other than the phone, this definition is lost

it depends of your server... may you open a bug here : https://gitlab.com/CardBook/CardBook/-/issues describing how you proceed...

This extension creates separate address book that is not integrated with Thunderbird. It syncs well with my Gmail contacts, but Thunderbird cannot see or access this address book.
So, if I want to create an email filter in Thunderbird which looks in my address book, Thunderbird offers only its own empty address book as an option. It doesn't even see the new address book created by this extension that is synchronized with my Gmail.
Autocomplete of email addresses in the compose email window works properly though.
Is there a way to integrate the new address book with Thunderbird, so that Thunderbird can see it??? I looked at all the options, and there's nothing like that.

EDIT: Thanks to the developer who replied promptly and solved the issue!

For the filters, CardBook adds its own filters, look at the bottom of the drop down list... If you still have issues, email me : cardbook@cardbook.icu ;)

Greek translation is just a horrible google translation! It really absolutely doesn't make any sense! Does anyone know how to change interface language?

Vast improvement! The standard address book is clumsy and barely adequate. The gContactSync extension helped but was also lacking. Cardbook is in a different league, with due allowance for the way vCard works. (It's good, not perfect.) For the first time in decades (no joke) I have all my contacts sorted and synchronised in one address book just a few days after installing Cardbook

BTW the review by Thecoalcracker that says there is no documentation is wrong. There is fairly thorough documentation via the GitHub developer's page.

Awesome add-on!
I was switching from gContactSync and was worried I won't find a good alternative, but CardBook is awesome and in some aspects even better than gContactSync! Thank you! Keep up the good work!

Bonjour,
