This is one of the most useful pieces of software I have on my PC; I would be lost without it.
In future versions, I hope the names dictionary will be usable with hiragana & katakana again (it's more useful than it sounds!) rather than kanji-only. More slang/colloquialisms, expressions & interjections and idioms would be welcome too.
These are minor things, however, and I recommend giving rikaichan at least a try-out whatever your level of fluency.

Great for using Japanese websites without understanding a word :)

Perfect :D I think it should only have more customizable balloon colors and transparency on those, like FetchImi does. No additional issues :D rly r0x.

Great app. Invaluable, really.
Just wondering if anyone knows what the abbreviations in the names dictionary stand for?
After a name there’s (f), (m), (p), (s), or (u) listed. I’m guessing f = female name. M = male name. But I’m not sure and I’d like to find out what the others mean.

It works great in Thunderbird and Firefox. Now I'm able to read the mails from my Japanese penpals within minutes and not in hours as before.

It ends up rather useless since you have to turn it on manually every time you want to use it. For the life of me I can't understand their logic.

Awesome addon, I couldn't live without it. Although, would it be possible to add a J-J dictionary?

I must thank the developers of this extension. It is the best Japanese learning tool I have. Even I convert various other file formats to HTML just to use Rikaichan.
Rikaichan is the best. I love it!

One of the few add-ons that actually helps me learn! An awesome achievement.

There is a reason why this extension will soon surpass 100,000 downloads: it is an indispensable tool for anyone who is studying Japanese at every level. In fact, it is worth switching to FireFox just to be able to use this extension! It isn't (as of this writing) perfect: the popup often pops under flash on the page. Even so, it is so useful that it doesn't really matter. Have to give this 5 stars plus a few extra.

Great addon. The author has made the FF3b*-enabled version available on http://rikaichan.mozdev.org/ and http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/
I have pinged him to add it here, but in the meantime, avail yourself of the above links.

I gave it 5 stars, because this extension is a must for all Japanese language learners. However. it's a shame this is still not available for Firefox 3. Maybe the author is waiting for the final release, I don't know...
