Great little app that does just what I need without having to leave my browser. Thanks.
I don't know if this is possible, but it would be nice if there were some user-selectable event sounds for some of the more common events, like when you connect & disconnect from the FTP site, when a file is successfully uploaded, when there is a problem, alert, etc. I guess I'm spoiled by the cute little sounds in my old FTP client, but it's nice to have that audio confirmation that the action you intended was indeed completed, or not.

Having the blank window problem with the latest version and ff22. Version 2.0.10 works but I get an error message when I want to create a new account. ...just realized, only the first start worked, now again blank window with old version as well.

Thanks for the reply. I aprecheate it!
But I found out it works in the "Tab-Mode" but not in the "Windows-Mode". So it might be something else here...
For me it works and that as good as allways.
Sorry that you've run into this issue. The new version of FireFTP is doing migration of an old account format to a new one. Unfortunately, there are some illegal characters that make it difficult to upgrade to the new format that Mozilla now requires. (specifically, the combination of trying to convert international characters and the '%' character creates problems).
If the latest version isn't working for you, you can try the following:
find your profile folder, here are instructions: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data (if you're on a Mac it'll be under: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles)
find the file in your profile folder called fireFTPsites.dat
remove the '%' characters found in the file.
remove any characters that start with \x,
remove any characters that might have umlauts (like ä)
install the latest version and readd the % characters back in later as needed. (not directly into the file, but via the regular FireFTP interface).
The same applies for the files you're trying to import. If you have further issues, email me http://nightlight.ws/mime/about/contact and I'll help further.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience,
Mime

This add-on works very well and fast for unencrypted connections. Sadly it does not function (stuck after LIST command) for FTPS in my case where other tools don't have problems.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.16.1-signed).This is a known issue with Firefox (in conjunction with some servers). Unfortunately there is no current workaround - hopefully Firefox will fix this in the future!

it works great, causes no problems and makes my life easier because it's so convenient having an ftp client open in a tab instead of another open program.

I have been using PSFTP and putty for a long time. I a was so used to typing commands on my own for any file transfer stuff.
Ever since I installed this addon, I am not going back to command line. Though I still like command line the good thing about this add on is ability to save profiles.
I have dozens of different servers that I may need to login and I have a cluster of several machines. This add on is almost perfect for doing file transfer to any saved profiles with a simple connect button click.
Some improvements can be done to do multi machine connection. However this should not change the current awesome features of this addon and I recommend all sftp lovers to try this.
It is secure and stable with really large files. I am sure you will love this addon.

I loved this but I guess it just divorced me as all I get is a blank window. I am giving it 5 stars because of how much I love it, maybe in a week after having to use another ftp, another, window and all that I may change my 5 stars to 2% of a star because it won't work for me anymore for whatever reason. Done all the troubleshooting on it and my profiles and nothing makes it work anymore. Oh well...

I run Windows 7, Firefox 21 and FireFTP 2.0.14. I just updated from 2.0.7, for it was working fine but did not allow to set new connections. Now my old entries were gone... :( BUT: i found out that the passwords have been stored in the fireFTPsites.dat had bad characters. I just deleted them, now fireFTP 2.0.14 is running faster than any version before. All thumbs up, great software :)

The simplest and most intuitive FTP tool ever.I have been using this tools for a long time now and it is just great!! It has never failed on me!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.14.1-signed).What's the issue you're having? Do you mean Firefox 21 compatible? (instead of 12)

Excellent program for doing FTP. Better than stand alone FTP programs even!

There is a bug in the application which makes files with diacritics, e.g. à, é, ä, å, ö, corrupt. You get an error message that the file doesn't exist, and even though you can downlod the file it is corrupt and impossible to open. This application sucks.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.14.1-signed).You might have to change the encoding you are working with to download the file. Go to Account Manager->Advanced->Server Encoding and perhaps try West European->Western (ISO-8859-1) or whatever region the server might be located in (e.g. Chinese servers tend to use East Asian->Chinese Simplified (GB18030)).
Hope that helps!

Great add-on! Only issue is although set to UTF-8 charset accented french characters are not synching so files show as missing local and/or remote. Any suggestions?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.13.1-signed).You are able to download/upload them but not sync them? Is that the issue?
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
