Doesn't work!! I can't understand it, I have tried everything dragging and dropping and all sorts. Just can't get it to work. This is a fundamental part of the software I can't believe it has this sort of problem

Went near crazy trying to install. Windows just kept saying never heard of a XPI file. Then read alienfromzog's instructions (copied below). Worked fine - hope this helps others.

Installing is actually really easy just not well explained.
1. Download the add-on to your desktop.
2. Open the Add-on's window from Tools on the Menu bar
3. Simply drag-and-drop the download into the Add-on's window
4. When instructed restart Thunderbird.

Had problems posting this though - what is the difference between 'saving' and 'submitting' a review?

What a brilliant add-on idea - I've been tolerating the red lines up til now (the end result being that they got ignored since I can't tell if it's a real mistake or just a US/GB difference) so finding this was fab.
But - and it's a big but - it simply does not work. Or, at least, it doesn't work where I need it to work. I most frequently use Gmail (yes, I've changed the language setting there to UK and also the language setting on the browser options here on FF), Livejournal and the BBC website. All three still bring up colour as spelt wrong. In fact, colour and spelt are both red-underlined at this very moment.
So, sorry, but: FAIL.
