Emoji

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a very promising extension, and quite useful. However, a couple of caveats:
1) There should be an option to make Unicode emojis standard. Quite a few mail programs dislike non-Unicode emojis.
2) The emoticon button currently in the formatting/typing command bar will only allow me to add one emoji. After that it stops working. In fact, the button is so useless that I would like an option to get rid of it.
If you could fix the two items above, this add-on would certainly merit five stars.
In the meantime, thank you for your hard work so far!

UPDATE: I have changed my rating to five stars after the dev's reply (incidentally, thank you for answering so promptly). The reasons are:
1) If it's on the near-future agenda, that's good enough for me.
2) After researching this a bit, I find that I mistook—what I now discover to be—TB's built-in (and less-than-useless) emoticon button on the formatting bar for one inserted by this extension. Sorry for the confusion. Mind you, I would still like to get rid of it ;-) Apologies again.

I'll miss this extension!

My only criticism is that, after installation, the previous version is neither removed nor disabled. That should either be done automatically or new users should be advised to do so manually.

Keep up the good work and… thank you!

Get Selected Mails

Says exactly what it does and does exactly what it says, which I think is the best review that one can give an add-on. Should be a default part of Thunderbird.

But, of course, this is true of every R Kent James add-on.
So, well done and thank you.

An incomparable add-on to successfully manage (and understand) your spam.
The previous reviewer thinks that it needs to be updated for the latest versions of TB; I am currently using version 52.1.1 and the add-on works perfectly out of the box. Mind you, though its core functionality is to laser focus on your spam, it does this via several different processes; I would highly recommend viewing the developer's introductory page at http://mesquilla.com/extensions/junquilla, which will not only help you understand the add-on's potential, but will help you achieve maximum results.
Definitely one of the best and most useful TB add-ons available.

…should be installed by default on Firefox. Also, continues to be updated regularly. Kudos to the developer!

Contact Photos

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It doesn't show contact photos at all. When I click on the placeholder where the contact photo should go, I receive an error message that states "Please add this contact to your address book (click the star next to 'from') before trying to edit the photo".
However, the contact's photo is invariably already inserted in the contact's details in both my Thunderbird and Apple contacts (which are synced on my computers). And, for what it's worth, Apple Mail invariably shows the photo.
Awaiting a reply from the developer…

Mnenhy

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Sorry, but the so-called "bug-fix" versions proposed by Joe Feise don't work for me. I'm running TB 45 on both Mac and Windows clients. In all cases, some headers (e.g., "date" and "subject" remain blank even with the so-called "bug-fix". Looks like Mnenhy has reached the end of the road. I'm very sorry as this was one of the main reasons I moved to Thunderbird. Very disappointing.

Checkbox Column

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful. I would give it five stars if the developer could reduce (or let me know how to reduce) the size of the icon in the threadpane. Thanks in advance.

PS: Thank you for your reply. It seems that there was a misunderstanding; I was inquiring about reducing the size of the icons in the threadpane. I figured it out in the end: reduce 16px to 12px in style.css. That works fine, but it would be nice to have it as an "official" option. I also agree with the previous reviewer's points 1 and 2, which don't appear to have been addressed. Thanks again.

Mnenhy

I would be very unhappy if that were the case, but since it currently doesn't work and there have been no updates for a year and a half, I presume that it is. I've looked at the extension support page, but there is no info that leads me to believe that Mnenhy will be revived.
