If you can't get it to show up in tools menu, check McAfee AV for a quarantined .xpi file. Either restore file or, delete it and reinstall addon manually. Then it should work.

NO idea why this is not part of normal Thunderbird implementation. So messy to have to fiddle around with add-ons, however well-executed and helpful they are.

As new e-mail accounts are added in the future,* it SHOULD already, in the "vanilla" Thunderbird, be possible to re-order these ACCOUNTS (ie NOT merely folders within an account) in the Accounts Settings window (reached by Tools -> Accounts Settings). This addon provides the ONLY way to achieve this; one shouldn't have to install an addon, which offers a secondary afterthought, for this; it is FUNDAMENTAL behaviour.
Thunderbird developers; TAKE NOTE!
----------
* And, very distressingly, one is becoming more-and-more encouraged to open a new e-mail account with some stupid organisation or other.

Perfect exactly what should be in thunderbird by default. Was a little hard to find how to use to start with - need to read the info on the extension in thunderbird but other than that perfect.

Thank you for working on this add-on!
It works flawlessly on Thunderbird 78.8.1 for Mac.
It is so much better to see accounts sorted by their relative importance. Thank you!!

This add-on works well with version 78.*. I like that I can re-order my accounts with ease! Highly recommended if you desire to manually sort! Many thanks go to the developer.

Fantastic. Simple. Friendly. Wish you would write a para on how to do it somewhere, although not hard at all to find in Tools. Great job.....

I've only used the re-order accounts function. It works, is easily understood, the interface is intuitive. Really useful especially if you have a number of e-mail addresses from which you send.

Very useful add-on. Thank you Jonathan Protzenko! I've used your add-on for several years to keep 20+ account folders organized in Thunderbird, and I've never had a problem with it. Thank you!

Thank you very much for this useful add-on.
I used it to move my default account to the top of the list.
Then, the "from" drop-down menu is sorted accordingly when issuing a new message.

Hello Jonathan Protzenko,
You are the Man. You saved me a lot of headaches. This is a great add-on product. That is the reason, I was shopping around 3rd party Email Client Applications. I just could not sort the Folder.
As an Entrepreneur of many companies, I have many Email accounts under many domain names. Therefore I had an issue sorting the Folders. Now I got that solution. I am so happy now!
I was about to assign a Developer to develop something about it. Finally, I got that solution from you, and I do not need to give the Task Anymore.
The only question is how can I save all my Folders as back up to reinstall in a new Installation.
OR,
I need an Add where I can save all my Folder and Account settings to save and when I reinstall the Windows 10 to another Desktop or when Windows 10 crashes then I have to set up all my settings manually. That is very time-consuming.
I want that to save/Back up when I need it all I want to plug in my Old setting inherit that settings to the Thunderbird installation.
Please help me with this.
Thank you so much again for your awesomely great work.
With Best Regards,
Mark Shah

Oh, thank you! Perfect. Had to delete and reinstall an email account but had no idea it would show up in a random location. This worked perfectly.
