This add-on is now crashing and making Thunderbird take over 2 minutes to open in version 102.6.1. Are the developers even updating this add-on anymore?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.6).I have not received any reports of such an issue, so your case seems rare. Please try to disable all other add-ons first to make sure they are not to blame. If the problem persists, please report it in Issues on GitHub.

It broke my two other extensions, Full address column, Just report it.
It removed the two new column available with full address column, @Sender and @Recipient. For Just report it, the menu was still there but it would not launch the plugin to open an email for reporting spam.

It simply works! Not sure why it's not built right into Thunderbird.

Actually you do not need this Add-On anymore, in Account settings just drag account to desired place.

This should have been a standard feature built-in to TBird from the start. Thank you for filling in this key missing component! Well done my friend, well done!

This add-on ROCKS! Been using it forever and LOVE it. Question: I recently switched from PC to Mac and I don't see the "search" box at the top of the "move to" right-click menu. Any way to get that back? Thanks so much. . .LOVE this add-on! :-)

Installed manual sort add on. Now what? Nothing happens, nor can I find any instructions how to use. Ridiculous that this function is not standard in the email app.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.1).Have you read "About this Add-on"? Did you still not know where and what is added by this add-on? Or did you launch the added menu item and not know how to use it?
Also, wouldn't it be out of line to use your rating for the email app as a grade for this add-on?
Thunderbird is also evolving, albeit slowly. Until recent versions, it was not possible to sort accounts, but now it is (so there is not much need now to use this add-on for sorting accounts). But unfortunately, there is still no ability to sort folders, so this add-on is still on.

Love this add-on, but in the latest version of Thunderbird (91.10.0) it no longer works correctly. like some other add-ons. I should turn the add-on off and then turn it EACH time I open Thunderbird.
Ok, disabled all other add-ons and then enabled them one by one, checking which one caused the problem and the problem is caused by: Phoenity Icons
So have disabled that one, until it will be fixed.
Please try to disable all other add-ons.

Firstly, I would like to say that this is a great add-on when dealing with non-local folders - it does everything it says on the tin.
HOWEVER - despite what others have said, this add-on no longer works correctly when sorting accounts (although it used to!). I happily used it for ages until my Thunderbird crashed. I reinstalled my preferred version (68.12.1 - I have no desire for the newer ones) and now this feature no longer works. (I have tried this version and every version on Github.)
To explain more fully, what I want to do is place a local folder at the top of my account list in the left-hand main pane, so I see it first. This was always possible to do, but now it no longer works.
'Sort Accounts' tab
---------------------------
- 'Local Folders' is shown in a small separate box underneath all the other accounts (left-hand list), and is not clickable, therefore it cannot seemingly be moved (although the text confidently tells me that I can override this).
- The local folder that I actually created isn't shown at all in the left-hand list?
- I can see and set my folder in 'First account in the folder pane'. but that does not work either (after restarts) - the folder stays firmly at the bottom of the list in the main pane. (So I can't 'override this' then!)
'Extra Settings' tab
---------------------------
- I can allegedly make my folder the Startup folder - yes, Thunderbird will go straight there on startup - but the folder is still at the bottom of my left-hand main pane!
I thought a workaround for this might be to make my folder a sub-folder inside 'Local Folders' - but if 'Local Folder' can't be moved anyway, what is the point?
What is so frustrating about this is that this feature USED to work - and it doesn't any more! If I'm using the same version (and the same version of Thunderbird that I used before), what is the problem - why doesn't this work?
So yes for non-local folders but a big fat no for local folders - sorry!
(Note - I have just raised this as an issue at https://github.com/protz/Manually-Sort-Folders/issues.)

This function was sorely missing. I mainly need to re-arrange the order of my accounts. But some folder order sorting is also handy. Everything works fine on TB 91.8.1 May 22. Greatly appreciated.

I need mailbox sorting. I was very surprised when I found out that this function is not present by default. It's not even about changing the order with hot keys, but just to have such an option. Editing mail.accountmanager.accounts didn't help. Thanks for this add-on, it has implemented the functionality I need.

I installed this add-on for the sole purpose of re-arranging the accounts in the left account list pane which so far works as expected. For those that have reported it does not work you must click on the far "Sort Accounts" tab in the add-ons Interface to accomplish this (by then dragging an account to the position you desire) by of course first going to TB "Tools">"Manually sort folder" to get to the add-ons Interface.

A prior review: "This extension will have full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer. Extensions requesting this permission might: Read, modify and execute any file on your computer." Very dubious. I won't install it until this is fixed."

I think many other add-ons are the same.
Add-ons published on addons.thunderbird.net (ATN) have passed human review.
In addition, the source code of this add-on is open, and anyone can check it.
QUESTION: This may be common practice, but why is it necessary in this case to access any and every file on a user's computer??
Good question.
I found a blog that explains it clearly.
https://hogiblog.blogspot.com/2020/09/access-permissions-of-add-ons.html
This add-on also uses WebExtension Experiments and will be notified of Case 2 full access requests.
This add-on does not do or need full access. But it uses a conventional mechanism that allows full access. And such add-ons always generate such warnings.

From version 91 you can change the order in TB, Tools / Account configuration and manually move the main folder
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.2).This add-on is, as the name suggests, for reordering folders. You can also reorder accounts, though.
