Really loved CardBook for the ability to sync Thunderbird with my Nextcloud Server. With TB68 it fails to connect to Nextcloud. Contacts are still present and get updated form cached db instead. Please fix

Update 09-oct-2019 for v42.4: Just noticed that my addressbook is back -- thanks for the fix!
Cardbook now earns it's 5 stars again.

Used to be a very good plugin. But when upgrading Thunderbird from v60 to v68 (and updating the plugin accordingly), the entire addressbook vanished, and I find no trace of its database file. [based on v41.6]

UPDATE 13.09.19 for preview 42.0
Now it works. Full stars for the fast repairs and the nice contact!
From 06.09.19 on 41.5
This is a greate tool but with version 41.5 on Thunderbird 68 I receive error 503 with nextcloud. This was not the case with earlier versions on thunderbird 60.*
CalDav on Android still works, so I assume a problem with cardbook.

I can confirm what 18ccc4 writes. What helped in my case was copying the .xpi file into the extensions directory of my Thunderbird profile.

Great addon have used it for years. It made thunderbird the only option to get away from the microsoft world of outlook, with Libre office now only have the operating system to hold against Microsoft;-)))

Das ist ja mal ein Add-On! Perfekt!

impossible for the simple reason that it's not possible to update a standard contact with a CardBook contact which has 10 email addresses :(

Works perfectly with a cyrus carddav server 3.0.8., the UI could be completely adapted to my personal preferences.
Thank you for your work!

For using in an enterprise environment it would be very helpful, to be able to use Kerberos/GSS-SPNEGO - however it seems not implemented.
These days I can use Thunderbird with Kerberos/GSSAPI for IMAP and SMTP, Kerberos/GSS-SPNEGO with caldav Lightning, but for Cardbook I must use username/password.

thanks a lot, will investigate for this (but after the CardBook migration to Thunderbird 68 ;O)

Really good tool. Is there a way not to save login/password for remote calendar and use the core TB ask pop-up (and obviously connect that to the excellent Keepass module)?

Thanks,

Vielen Dank!

Great Job! Absolutely perfect add-on to Thunderbird!

I'm using it together with my owncloud on raspberry pi.
- syncing and editing phone- and mailcontacts is now easy and secure.
- Handling of mailinglists is now transparent and easy with "categories" switch-

Thanks a lot, I already spent some euros, and i'm going to increase my donation.

After struggling with GContacts for the past couple of weeks or so, I switched to Cardbook. Fast, easy, HIGHLY customizable. I would LOVE to have Cardbook incorporated directly into Thunderbird as it's address book! A first-rate add-on by some skilled and intuitive developers. Kudos!

Bonjour,

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (35.5).
