CompactHeader
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
CompactHeader does work in Thunderbird 12, but only partially. It narrows the message header pane as it's designed to do. However, the icons to delete, reply, etc. can not be installed in compact view, and the options to position the header at the left or right do not function.

Works fine, but just one annoyance. The tooltip should read, "No new mail," not "T-Bird Biff: No new mail." Fix the tooltip for the fifth star.

The core functionality works perfectly. However, the GUI has problems. Installing this add-on reduces the number of address lines in the Compose window from four to three, and bloats the Reply and Forward buttons in the CompactHeader toolbar.
Personally, I welcome reducing the number of address lines in the Compose window from four to three. However, bloating two of the CompactHeader toolbar buttons increases the height of the toolbar and looks silly, since all of the other buttons on the toolbar are the correct size.
I have communicated with the developer several times concerning these bugs, but his reply is always that the problems are caused by other add-ons, and that he doesn't have enough time to deal with the problems.
I understand that coding even the simplest project is difficult and takes a lot of time. On the other hand, when you post an add-on for potentially millions of users, it ought to be coded correctly.
With all due respect to the developer, I think that he should either find the time to repair his add-on, or withdraw it.

This add-on doesn't work at all. I wasted a whole lot of time figuring that out.

The developer does not seem interested in doing this thing right. This add-on went through several initial changes before it worked as intended. Now the option named "Darker Selector Bar" can not be turned off.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars
The best thing about this add-on is that it doesn't distort the menus and dialog boxes the way CuteMenus - Crystal SVG does. Hooray! It also provides a convenient list of options, so the user can adjust the visual effects.
It does, however, distort the navigation bar buttons. It squishes them horizontally, so they appear narrower than they should be. It makes a circular button look like an egg! 5 stars when the developer fixes this.
Image Saver 7
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Extremely useful. Simply by pressing the "S" key and clicking on an image, you can instantly download the image to a predetermined folder. Much faster than going through the normal "Save Image As" series of steps.
Only problem is, the add-on is way overloaded with features, options, and menu entries. The developer needs to pare it down to its essential function, which I described above. If he does that, five stars.

Works perfectly in TB 3.1. Replaces version 2.1, which won't work at all in TB 3.1.

After several updates, version 3.2 is finally ready for prime time. Everything seems to work as the author intended. Unfortunately, Account Colors does not integrate with other add-ons. If CompactHeader is installed, none of the options in the Message Pane tab will work. If Manually Sort Folders is installed, the account font style and size cannot be changed in the Folder Pane tab.

I wish that more add-ons were as carefully designed and well thought out as this one. Integrates seamlessly with the Address Book, as well as with the CompactHeader extension. Provides plenty of options, so the user remains in control. Really a beautiful job.

Version 3.0 is a big improvement, but in the Compose window it colors the "From" field and miniaturizes the text in the field. This extension needs more work.

This extension shows promise, but it needs more work. For some reason, it greys out the menu bar. The option to show a "darker select bar" in the folder pane is enabled by default, and cannot be disabled. Some of the other functions don't seem to work. And the options window needs to be redesigned using tabs. There is so much information in the window that the accounts at the top overlap.
I don't agree with the review that complained about the pale colors. The colors need to be pale. They are just fine as they are.
Update Notifier
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I take back my original review. I apologize. Update Notifier works perfectly in Thunderbird 3. I just wish it wouldn't nag me to install extension updates every 24 hours. There is no way to turn off the nags.

Does nothing at all in Thunderbird 3, even after bumping the RDF file to 3.*.

Update Notifier
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Every time I open Thunderbird after a 24 hour lapse, a window appears asking me if I want to install extension updates. I have to close the window before Thunderbird will open. This is extremely annoying. There is no option in Update Notifier settings which will correct this behavior. When I want to open Thunderbird, I just want to open it, and not be delayed by Update Notifier's "helpful" query.
