This fix works great in TBird 60.0 (32 bit), which I run on Windows 7 PRO (64 bit SP1).
Thanks for the tip, and the author's hard work.

Is there a way to make this extension work with portable version of Thunderbird?
Best regards.
Anyway, great extension that I have always used with the standard version!
5 stars when it will be available for portable! :)

@Harry, Yes, I've had email open on two computers, also, though I don't know whether it might create a security warning from the provider, or just synchronize the accounts.

Hi Jonathan,
Great work with this addon and I hope you can find time to make that working again with TB60+ .
5 stars on faith.
Thanks.

Can people please write the author and ask for this to be updated for use with TB 60 (linux)?
I wish Mozilla would add this as a feature so we wouldn't need an addon.
1 star because its broken, 5 stars for the feature itself

Same here with TB60, it does not work any more. Such a shame I have been using TB and this add-on for years. I will look for another email client. Mozilla just updates and don't give a dam about the add-ons we use or show a bit of respect for the developers that give up personal time to make these add-ons! I've had it with TB and Mozilla updates always breaking everything

Ne fonctionne pas avec TB 60. Le champ Dossier et le champs Comptes sont vides (tout blanc), donc, impossible de trier quoi que se soit.

I loved it when I was using TB 52. Now on 60 it doesn't work anymore, even with extensions.strictCompatibility set to false.
At least on linux.

Funktioniert nicht unter TB60. In der Ordnerliste wird nicht ein einziger Ordner angezeigt. Es erfolgen auch keinerlei Reaktionen des Add-ons. Egal welche Aktion man ausführt. Sehr schade.

As noted previously:
Works great with TB60 if you disable extensions.strictCompatibility as noted in the release notes of TB60.
This will also work by editing the install.rdf file in the xpi for Manually sort folders v 1.1.1 to set
<em:maxVersion>60.*</em:maxVersion> for the target application.
I have verified this on four installations of TB60 on four computers (mine, mywife's, my son's and my daughtr's). My wife and I run macOS 10.13.6 and my son and daughter run WIN 10.

Would probably be great if it worked in TB60!
An alternative manual method is to create a user.js file in your Thuderbird profile with these these copied lines from your pref.js where you can manually order them
user_pref("mail.accountmanager.accounts", "account4,account1,account3,account2");
user_pref("mail.accountmanager.defaultaccount", "account4");
